Chandigarh, August 6: As part of the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chandigarh Pradesh, organised a grand and spiritually significant programme during which sacred soil Kalash brought from the holy birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj at Shri Govardhanpur, Varanasi, were ceremonially handed over to the District Presidents and office bearers of all six districts of Chandigarh.
The campaign aims to spread the timeless ideals of social harmony, social justice, equality, humanity and national unity as preached by Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, taking his message to every household across the city.
The programme was held at Chintpurni Mata Temple, Sector 32, Chandigarh, under the leadership of BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra. The ceremony was graced by BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh and Chief Guest Gajender Singh Yadav, MLA from Mehrauli Assembly Constituency, Delhi, who ceremonially handed over the sacred Kalash to representatives of all six districts after traditional Vedic rituals and prayers.
Addressing the gathering, Jatinder Pal Malhotra said the campaign is not merely a religious initiative but a mass social awareness movement inspired by the teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. He said the BJP is committed to carrying forward Guru Ravidas Ji's ideals of equality, brotherhood, social justice, selfless service and human dignity to every section of society.
Speaking on the occasion, Saudan Singh said that the teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji continue to inspire millions and remain highly relevant in building a harmonious and inclusive society. He expressed confidence that the campaign would further strengthen social unity and national integration.
Chief Guest Gajender Singh Yadav said the life and philosophy of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji inspire people to rise above discrimination and work towards an egalitarian and compassionate society. He said the sacred Kalash would serve as a powerful medium for spreading Guru Ravidas Ji's message of unity, equality and social justice across Chandigarh.
The programme was attended by Campaign Convenor and BJP Chandigarh Pradesh General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, former Mayor Ravikant Sharma, SC Morcha Chandigarh President Amit Khairwal, senior BJP leaders Rajesh Kalia, Rajpal Dogra, former Councillor Rajendra Kaur Rattu, Formila, Ramesh Kumar Nikku, along with Pradesh office bearers, District Presidents and office bearers of all six districts, Mandal Presidents, representatives of various Morchas and Cells, BJP workers, devotees and a large number of members of the public.
It was announced that the sacred soil Kalash handed over to the six districts will now be taken through grand Kalash Yatras in every Mandal across Chandigarh. These processions will carry the teachings and philosophy of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to every locality, encouraging greater public participation while reinforcing the values of social harmony, equality, social justice and human welfare.
The programme concluded with participants collectively reaffirming their commitment to building a harmonious and inclusive society inspired by the ideals of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
