Chandigarh, 14 February: The English Literary Society- ‘Xpressions’ of the Postgraduate Department of English at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised ‘A Taste of Tales’- a unique open mic literary event themed ‘The Chromatic Library’. The programme celebrated literature through a creative and colourful format, transforming the reading experience into a multisensory celebration. Teachers and students participated with great enthusiasm, making the event a lively literary gathering. Participants presented excerpts from their favourite books and shared original pieces inspired by them. Adding a distinctive touch, each participant brought a favourite book along with a colour-matched snack and attire reflecting the primary colour of the book cover. This imaginative integration of literature, creativity, and visual expression lent charm and novelty to the occasion. The event truly embodied the joy of celebrating literature, colours, and storytelling, further strengthening the vibrant literary culture of the institution.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma commended the Department of English for conceptualising such an innovative programme and appreciated the spirited participation of both faculty and students. She lauded the creative blending of literature with visual aesthetics and encouraged students to continue nurturing their imaginative and expressive abilities.
