Chandigarh, 12 February: The Arya Samaj Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women solemnly celebrated the 202nd birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati with a sacred Vedic Havan ceremony. The spiritual observance paid a heartfelt tribute to the great reformer’s enduring legacy and his vision of social awakening rooted in Vedic wisdom.

The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Sneh Mahajan, Former Principal of the college, whose esteemed presence added grace to the occasion. The offering of oblations to the holy fire amidst the resonant chanting of Vedic mantras and shlokas created an atmosphere imbued with devotion and spiritual harmony. To further commemorate the occasion, the Department of Sanskrit organised Mantra Lekhan, Shlok Lekhan, and Poster Making competitions, encouraging students to engage creatively and intellectually with Vedic teachings. The winners were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates after the Havan ceremony.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Arya Samaj Committee and the Department of Sanskrit for organising the meaningful celebration. She lauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and reiterated the importance of imbibing Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s ideals of truth, righteousness, and social reform in contemporary times.
