CHANDIGARH, 16.12.25-Shakti Prakash Devshali, Non-Official Member of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) and Ex-Councillor has written to the Chairman of the Board, urging the convening of meetings at regular intervals to ensure transparency, effective communication, and timely resolution of public issues related to housing.
In his communication, Sh. Devshali noted that the Board of Members, constituted by the Hon’ble Administrator, Chandigarh Administration, on 30th October 2024, has held only one meeting since its formation — on 27th February 2025. He expressed concern that important policy decisions and developments are often being learnt by members through newspapers instead of official communication from the Board.
Highlighting that the decisions of the Chandigarh Housing Board directly impact nearly 60,000 households in the city, Devshali stressed the need for quarterly meetings to facilitate deliberations on residents’ issues and formulation of new housing schemes.
He further underlined that regular meetings would help the Board align its functioning with the Central Government’s flagship mission of “Housing for All” under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi Ji.
Calling for an immediate meeting of the Board, Devshali emphasized that a structured and transparent communication mechanism within Chandigarh Housing Board is essential for informed decision-making, effective governance, and better service to the citizens of Chandigarh.
