Chandigarh, 05.12.2025:A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, Sh. H. Rajesh Prasad to review various ongoing issues. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration.

During the discussion, it was noted that there is a need for improved lighting, systematic pruning of trees, and proper signage along cycle tracks across the city. The Chief Secretary directed the Engineering Department to conduct a comprehensive audit of all cycle tracks.

While reviewing road repair works, C.B. Ojha, Chief Engineer informed that 27 kms and 87 kms of roads, of UT Chandigarh and Municipal Corporation respectively, have been repaired to date. The Chief Secretary instructed the departments to expedite the remaining repair works.

It was also discussed about the representations received regarding increased electricity bills following the installation of Solar Roof Top Plants (SRTP) in Government residences. The Chief Secretary directed to the Secretary Science and Technology to carry out a comprehensive study to assess the performance of Solar Roof Top Plants, including a comparison of electricity bills before and after installation. The report is to be submitted within two weeks.

Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner; Sh. Saurabh Kumar, Secretary Environment and other officials of Chandigarh Administration.
