Chandigarh, December 5, 2025: National Conference on ‘Transformative Quality Assurance under NAAC Outcome Based Accreditation: Opportunities and Challenges ‘was hosted by Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, under the PM USHA Scheme (RUSA) today. The event saw participation from over 120 experts from academia, policy makers, administrators, and quality assurance processionals. The conference began with a welcome address by Dr Anirudh Joshi ,General Secretary, GGDSD College Society highlighting the evolution of quality assurance processes.

Eminent speakers from the various fields of academia discussed vital themes such as curriculum redesign, documentation strategies, outcome-based assessment, governance reforms, and faculty empowerment. The sessions emphasized the urgency for higher education institutions to enhance readiness as NAAC transitions to a more dynamic, data-driven accreditation framework.

The inaugural session featured Prof. (Dr.) Jagdeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, and Patiala, who highlighted the need to strengthen academic ecosystems that prioritize measurable learning outcomes as a core driver of institutional growth. Dr. G. S. Chauhan, Joint Secretary, UGC, New Delhi, emphasized the necessity of fostering a robust data culture and adopting evidence-based documentation to stay aligned with the evolving NAAC framework. Adding further depth, Prof. (Dr.) Parvinder Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, Rayat & Bahra University and National Adviser, CIPU, underscored the significance of governance reforms, transparency, and inclusive academic practices in ensuring sustained quality enhancement across institutions. Dr. Sandeep Garg, Managing Director, Ecoparyavaran Group, stated that quality assurance must integrate sustainability, compliance, and responsible institutional practices. Complementing this view, Dr. Bhola Ram Gujjar, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh, encouraged institutions to strengthen faculty development and foster teaching–learning innovation as essential drivers of quality enhancement.

The technical sessions featured expert presentations from Dr. Dalip Kumar, Registrar, Amity University, Mohali , Dr. Neena Seth Pajni, Principal, Gobindgarh Public College, Khanna, Ludhiana, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, GGDSD College Chandigarh, Dr. Meenakshi Sood, Associate Dean, NITTTR Chandigarh followed by open discussion where participants shared insights and challenges.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Dr Ajay Sharma, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to academic quality and innovation.
