*Link Officers Appointed for Zila Parishads and DRDAs in Haryana*
Chandigarh, November 19 – The Haryana Government has appointed link officers to ensure the smooth functioning of Zila Parishads and District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA) in the absence of their Chief Executive Officers.
According to a letter issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, for Zila Parishads and DRDA, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the same district has been designated as Link Officer-1, the Municipal Commissioner as Link Officer-2, and the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the district headquarters subdivision as Link Officer-3.
These link officers will look after the functioning of the respective Zila Parishads and DRDAs in the absence of the designated officer due to leave, training, tours, election duties, transfers, retirement, or any other reason.

*Government to Provide Subsidy for Barley and Wheat Demonstration Plots and Seed Distribution*
Chandigarh, November 19 – Under the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (Coarse grains), the Haryana Government will provide subsidies to farmers for barley seed distribution, demonstration plots, and plant and soil conservation management in seven districts of the state – Panchkula, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Hisar, Jhajjar, and Charkhi Dadri. Interested farmers can visit the website of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Haryana at https:// agriharyana.gov.in/ and complete the online application process.
Providing details, a spokesperson of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare said that farmers can submit their applications as per their crop sowing and crop timelines. For more information, farmers may contact the office of the Agriculture Development Officer, Block Agriculture Officer, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, or Deputy Director of Agriculture in their respective areas.
The spokesperson further informed that similarly, under the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (Wheat), farmers in eight districts – Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Jhajjar, Mewat, Palwal, Charkhi Dadri, and Rohtak – will receive subsidies for wheat demonstration plots, seed distribution, and plant and soil conservation management. Interested farmers may also apply by visiting the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department website at https:// agriharyana.gov.in/. Applications can be submitted according to the sowing and crop schedule.
Farmers have been advised to contact the respective Agriculture Development Officer, Block Agriculture Officer, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, or Deputy Director of Agriculture in their districts for further details regarding the subsidy.

India International Science Festival–2025: A Major Step to Enhance Students’ Interest in Science
‘Student Science Village’ to be held at Panjab University from December 6 to 9
Chandigarh, November 19 – With the aim of increasing students’ interest in science and connecting them with modern scientific thinking, the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, along with the India Meteorological Department, is organising the India International Science Festival–2025 (IISF–2025). As part of this series, the ‘Student Science Village’ programme will be held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from December 6 to 9, 2025.
Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that the Director General, Science and Technology Department and Department of Higher Education, Haryana, has been designated as the nodal officers for this event.
The spokesperson further said that during the programme, 35 students from Classes 8 to 11 and 5 teachers from each district of Haryana will participate. Separate arrangements will be made for buses to transport the participants to the venue and bring them back.
The spokesperson said that special transportation facilities will be provided to ensure the daily participation of 2,000 students from Panchkula and nearby areas.
In addition, one copy of the programme details has been sent to the Higher Education Department, School Education Department, Transport Department, Tourism Department, Hospitality Department, and the Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, so that all departments can extend their support in coordination.

Haryana Technical Education Department Enhances Industry Connect with Visit to Infosys-Chandigarh
Students Gain Hands-On Exposure on AI and IT Trends at Infosys-Chandigarh
Chandigarh, November 19 – A group of 16 outstanding students, led by the Director General of the Haryana Technical Education Department, Sh. Prabhjot Singh, undertook an educational visit to Infosys, Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Chandigarh. The visit is an important initiative to familiarize students with real industrial work practices, new technologies and modern research activities.
Director General Sh. Prabhjot Singh stated that industry exposure is essential for connecting students with the rapidly changing technological landscape at the global level. Keeping this vision in mind, the department is regularly organizing such educational visits.
Providing information, a department spokesperson stated that students from all five State Institutes of Technology (SITs) in Haryana, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Murthal, from the final year of Computer Science, participated in the visit.
Upon their arrival at Infosys, the departmental team and students were welcomed by Ms. Dimple Bhasin and Sh. Harpreet Singh. Infosys organized a special interactive session for the students on Artificial Intelligence, research work and emerging opportunities in the IT industry.
Afterwards, the students were taken on an extensive tour of the Infosys campus, where they observed and learned about the latest technologies, advanced labs, work culture and real industrial working environment.
The spokesperson further mentioned that prior to this, the department had also organized an educational tour for 28 students to ISRO Ahmedabad. The visit to Infosys is the next important milestone in this series. Recently, students from Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering were taken on study visits to ISRO Ahmedabad, CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, PEC Chandigarh, SCL Mohali, NABI and the IIT Extension Campus.
The spokesperson also informed that under the guidance of Sh. Prabhjot Singh, more than 400 faculty members from Civil, Textile, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Communication branches have also visited the IIT campus in New Delhi.
