Chandigarh, 15 November: Commemorating National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the NSS Units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Cyber Cell, Chandigarh Police, organised a session on ‘Reporting Mechanisms for Cyber Crime’ under the aegis of Project Saksham. The session aimed to create awareness about emerging threats in the digital space and equip students with practical knowledge to respond effectively to cybercrimes. Resource persons offered valuable insights into the lifecycle of a cyber complaint, official portals for reporting cybercrimes, dedicated helpline numbers, immediate response actions in emergency situations, and essential precautionary measures for maintaining digital safety. The experts highlighted the importance of responsible online behaviour and proactive contribution to building a secure and vigilant cyber ecosystem within the community. To reinforce learning, the session concluded with an engaging quiz. The highly interactive session gave the participants an opportunity to share their concerns and personal experiences related to online fraud, identity theft, and cyberbullying.
