Chandigarh, October 16 : Paramjit Singh Kainth, Punjab State Vice President of the Scheduled Caste Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party, appealed to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to take cognizance, saying, "Such incidents must be curbed and action must be taken to provide justice to the victims. Efforts are being made to shield the officers involved in the suicide of Y. Puran Kumar, a senior IPS officer and Additional Director General of Police of the Haryana government."

He said that even after 79 years of independence, Scheduled Caste people are facing humiliation, which reflects deep-rooted prejudice. Strict legal action must be taken against the culprits.
BJP leader Paramjit Kainth said that there is a need to create awareness in society against caste discrimination and hatred.

He said that attempts are being made to disrupt peace and public order by exploiting caste and communal sentiments. He appealed to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to investigate these incidents and take action against the culprits.

Sardar Kainth, Vice President of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha Punjab, demanded that the government provide special protection and assistance to the Scheduled Caste community and launch a campaign to raise awareness in society to prevent caste-based discrimination and hatred.
