Chandigarh, 15 October 2025-A joint delegation of the Chandigarh Traders Association (Regd.), Sector 17, and the National Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Force (NHRACF) today met Sh. H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Union Territory, Chandigarh, at his office in the UT Secretariat.
The delegation was led by Sh. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, President of both the organizations, and comprised: Sh. Anil Vohra (Chairman, NHRACF) Sh. Rajat Malhotra (General Secretary, NHRACF) Sh. Amit Jain (General Secretary, CTA) Sh. Rajan Mahajan (Vice President, NHRACF)
The members extended a warm welcome to the Chief Secretary by presenting a bouquet, a siropa, and a welcome poster.
During the meeting, a detailed memorandum was submitted highlighting key civic and administrative issues concerning the residents and traders of Chandigarh, including:
1. Implementation of a One-Time Settlement Scheme for long-pending cases and dues.
2. Simplification of Building By-Laws to ease compliance and reduce procedural delays.
3. Improvement in the efficiency and functioning of the Estate Office, Chandigarh.
4. Introduction of an Optional NOC System for Freehold Properties to facilitate smooth property transactions.
The members also discussed the Restoration of Share-wise Property Registration, a long-pending demand of the stakeholders.
The delegation also introduced the National Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Force (NHRACF) — an ISO 9001:2015 certified NGO working in Chandigarh — and briefly shared its aims and objectives.
Sh. H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that he will look into the issues mentioned in the memorandum. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary for his time, positive approach, and assurance of support.
