MC Chandigarh invites applications for temporary Diwali Festival Stalls – Apply Now via "IamChandigarh" App, MC sets up help desk at MC office, Sector 17 and MC office, Manimajra

Chandigarh, October 14:-The Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh has setup Help desk counters at MC office, Sector 17 and Manimajra for temporary stall permissions which will be issued to interested shopkeepers, vendors, and individuals for setting up stalls during the upcoming Diwali festive season.

Permissions will be granted strictly on a First Come, First Serve basis. The last date to apply is October 17, 2025, and no coupons will be issued thereafter.

Anyone found setting up a stall without a valid coupon will be liable to pay double the applicable fee, and the stall is subject to removal without prior notice, as per existing municipal laws.

Key Details for Stall Permission:

Validity: Permission is valid for 3 days only

In Sector 17 & 22, permissions will be granted only at designated places (excluding the 17 Plaza)
Stalls will not be allowed alongwith V-1, V-2 & V-3 Roads.

🔹 Select “Permission for Temporary Stalls”
🔹 Click on “Apply New Permission”
🔹 Fill in the required information and upload valid documents (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, etc.)

All applicants are requested to ensure they carry a valid ID at the time of setting up their stalls.

The Municipal Corporation appeals to all interested parties to adhere to the guidelines and timelines to ensure a smooth and festive experience for all.

Swachhta ki Karyashala’ Organized at Government School, Village Karsan

Chandigarh, October 14:-As part of the ongoing cleanliness awareness initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today organized a workshop titled ‘Swachhta ki Karyashala’ at Government School, Village Karsan.

The session was led by Dr. Himanshu Gupta, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, who engaged with the students and staff, motivating them to take active responsibility in maintaining cleanliness within the school campus and in their surroundings. He highlighted the important role students play as change-makers, spreading the message of Swachhta to their families and communities.

The workshop featured live demonstrations on home composting and waste segregation by the Municipal Corporation team. These sessions provided practical insights into effective and sustainable household waste management practices. The team emphasized how small lifestyle changes can lead to a cleaner, greener environment.

An awareness video on Swachhta was also screened during the session, underlining the importance of personal hygiene, proper sanitation, and citizen participation in maintaining urban cleanliness.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, who pledged to adopt and promote cleaner practices in their daily lives.
