Chandigarh, October 5 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij today launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks against the RSS made in Colombia, calling the Congress a foreign-born party founded by an Englishman.
“Congress is a foreign party, born from the mind of an Englishman; hence, it remains the offspring of the British. The BJP, on the other hand, is a truly Indian party dedicated to the nation’s progress,” Vij asserted.
While interacting with media persons today, the Energy Minister said that Rahul Gandhi has a bad habit of criticizing his own country on foreign soil. “India is a democracy — our Constitution gives everyone freedom of speech — but why go abroad to defame your own nation instead of discussing issues here?” he asked.
“We are proud to be associated with the RSS,” Vij continued. “It teaches us nationalism and character building. The Indian National Congress was founded by A.O. Hume, a British national — it is, therefore, a foreign entity. The BJP is a homegrown party that works tirelessly for India’s development.”

Responding to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks about alleged BJP–Congress collusion in Goa, Vij advised him to focus on governance in Punjab instead.
“As the head of your party, you should stop making irrelevant comments and instead look at the deteriorating condition of Punjab,” Vij said. Humming a poetic line, he added, “Why is Punjab in distress? Take care of it, Don’t wander here and there — take care of Punjab.”
*“Surjewala Sounds Like a Frustrated Poet”- Vij*
Reacting to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s social media posts criticizing the BJP government as anti-farmer, Vij remarked that “Surjewala sounds like a frustrated poet — writing verses as if in depression.”
Sh. Vij defended the BJP’s record on agriculture, emphasizing that no previous government has done as much for farmers. “Whether at the Centre or in the state, the BJP government ensures complete transparency in crop procurement, with payments made directly into farmers’ bank accounts,” he said.
He further reminded Surjewala of the Congress era, when farmers had to struggle to get payments from middlemen. “Those were the days when farmers’ lives were crushed under exploitation. Today, their earnings go directly into their own hands,” Vij said.
