Chandigarh,5th October 2025-State Bank of India in association with Radio Mirchi, organized Green Marathon season 6 on 5th October 2025 at Chandigarh Club bringing together fitness, community, and care for the environment.

The event was flagged off by senior SBI officials Shri Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager, Shri Neeraj Bharti, General Manager (NW-2), Shri Vimal Kishore, General Manager (NW-3) and Shri Manmeet S. Chhabra, General Manager (NW-1) and other dignitaries from SBI and Radio Mirchi highlighting the bank’s commitment to a greener planet.

Over 4,000 people participated at the scenic Chandigarh Club, celebrating health, inclusivity, and sustainability. With 5K, 10K, and 21K categories, runners of all ages and abilities took part showing strength, unity, and equal opportunity for all.

Sustainability was at the heart of the marathon. Runners wore organic T-shirts and plantable BIBs. Cloth goodie bags replaced plastic. For the first time in India, black alkaline water was provided to runners for better hydration and recovery. Waste was carefully managed and recycled by Skrap, the event’s waste partner.

The route through Chandigarh’s beautiful green spaces reflected the city’s love for nature and modern living. The Marathon concluded as a resounding success, reinforcing SBI's dedication to a sustainable future and support for a greener India.
