Chandigarh, August 15, 2025 – Excel Society, Sector 48, Chandigarh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and a strong spirit of patriotism. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Society’s President, Mr. Rajnish Sharma, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Residents paid floral tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence.
The event witnessed active participation from residents of all age groups. Children presented patriotic songs, poems, and short speeches, while senior citizens shared inspirational anecdotes and reflections on India’s freedom struggle.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sharma highlighted the development works undertaken in the society. He stressed that Independence Day is a time not only to celebrate freedom but also to remember our soldiers who fought the freedom struggle.
Mr. SK Dhawan urged residents to uphold unity maintain cleanliness, and work collectively for the betterment of the society and the nation.
Prizes were also given to the workers of the society.
Mr. S. Malhotra and Ganesh Chaudhary also attended the function.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among all attendees, and the atmosphere resonated with the spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Hind.”
