Mahendergarh, 15.08.25-The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a grand flag hoisting ceremony at the Administrative Block. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor unfurled the National Flag, extended greetings to all, and paid tribute to India’s freedom fighters and soldiers for their sacrifice and dedication.
In his address, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat as called for by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged everyone to contribute towards building a Aatmnirbhar Bharat and developed nation. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he commended the valour of the Indian Armed Forces and underscored that freedom encompasses political, educational, technological, and socio-economic progress. The programme witnessed the presence of First Lady Prof. Sunita Srivastava, Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar, Controller of Examinations Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, Dean Academics Prof. Pawan Kumar Maurya, faculty members, staff, students, and local residents.
Sharing the university’s achievements, Prof. Kumar noted CUH’s rising rankings and awards, including the EW India Ranking, IIRF Ranking, IDA Award, establishment of Metro Labs, and the Centre for Distance and Online Education. He also updated on ongoing infrastructure projects such as the new library building and auditorium.
The celebrations, organized by the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare, featured patriotic performances by students and staff, a march past by NSS, NCC, and security personnel, and cultural presentations by members of the Music Club. Local villagers honoured the Vice-Chancellor with a traditional turban. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Renu Yadav, Dean Students’ Welfare.
