Chandigarh, 7 July: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women marked the commencement of the academic session 2025–26 with its inaugural assembly titled ‘Shubhagman’. The event served as a warm and meaningful welcome to the newly admitted students, setting a tone of inspiration, discipline, and belonging.
A unique highlight of the assembly was the Campus Quiz, designed to familiarise the newcomers with the college’s rich legacy, facilities, and academic culture. The interactive activity invited students to explore the nooks and corners of the campus, and answer engaging trivia about the institution.
Addressing the gathering, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma extended her heartfelt greetings to the new entrants and described the college as a distinguished seat of learning that has achieved remarkable milestones over its 58-year journey. She emphasised that MCM’s illustrious alumni, who continue to shine in diverse fields, stand as proud ambassadors of the institution. Ms. Sharma expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed to making the college a formidable presence on the national academic map. She highlighted the college’s commitment to fostering the holistic development of students through a blend of academic and co-curricular excellence. Reiterating the importance of values, discipline, and a sense of community, she urged students to uphold the institution’s intellectually enriching, morally grounded, culturally inclusive, and socially responsible ethos. She implored the newcomers to consider MCM as a garden of values that nurtures students’ individuality and prunes their character. “You are students of MCM- carry a deep sense of self-worth,” she said, encouraging the young learners to seize every opportunity the college offers.
