Chandigarh, July 9: Vice President of Haryana State Child Welfare Council, Mrs. Suman Saini, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Haryana, Sh Bandaru Dattatraya, in Chandigarh today.
During the meeting, Mrs. Suman Saini held in-depth discussions on the various welfare schemes being implemented by the Council. She also received valuable guidance from the Governor on ensuring that the benefits of the Haryana Government’s schemes effectively reach the intended beneficiaries.
Mrs. Saini said that the BJP government in Haryana is consistently working in line with the Antyodaya policy, which aims to prioritize the upliftment of the last person in the queue by providing timely and targeted benefits.

Chandigarh, July 9 – A meaningful discussion on the SYL issue was held in a cordial atmosphere under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister Sh C.R. Patil, between the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab, in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, Punjab Chief Minister Sh Bhagwant Mann, Union Secretary Debashree Mukherjee, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of Irrigation and Water Resources Department Anurag Aggarwal, along with several senior officials from the Irrigation Department were present in the meeting. It was decided that the next meeting will take place on August 5.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the meaningful discussions were held in the meeting. The Chief Minister of Punjab also acknowledged that this issue should be resolved, as it has remained pending for far too long.
Sh Saini expressed confidence that a positive outcome will be achieved on this issue. He said that Punjab and Haryana are like brothers, and even today, they share a common space with mutual respect and harmony. He added that the upcoming discussions in the next meeting are expected to lead to a better solution and yield positive results.

Chandigarh, July 9: Haryana has been honored with the Policy Leadership Award in recognition of its outstanding contributions to agriculture and farmer welfare. The award was presented to Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Sh Piyush Goyal at the 16th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025, held in New Delhi. Accepting the award, the Chief Minister dedicated the achievement to the hardworking and dedicated farmers of Haryana.

Chief Minister said that agriculture in India is more than an economic activity, it is deeply rooted in the nation’s culture and identity. He stated that farmers, as Annadaatas (food providers), are central to the vision of a developed India by 2047, a goal set by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi. A strong, prosperous India, he said, is only possible when its farmers are empowered and self-reliant.
*Bringing Technology to the Fields*
Highlighting Haryana’s efforts to modernize agriculture, Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that digital technology has transformed farming practices. Our progressive farmers are embracing innovations like drones, AI, remote sensing, and digital farming. Today, drones are being used to spray fertilizers and pesticides, crop insurance schemes are being tracked online, and platforms like e-NAM are helping farmers access national markets directly. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making Haryana’s agriculture modern, efficient, and future-ready, adding that the state is also promoting startups and agricultural entrepreneurship.
*Proactive Government Initiatives for Farmer Welfare*
The Chief Minister shared that under the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ campaign, 90 lakh soil health cards have been distributed. Farmers are receiving up to 85% subsidy on micro-irrigation systems. Drone technology is being used not only for field monitoring and crop health assessments but also in land records and crop evaluations.
He highlighted the Drone Didi Yojana, which aims to train 5,000 women in drone operation, and said that 108 mandis in Haryana are now connected to the e-NAM platform, allowing farmers to sell their produce across the state and country for better prices.
The Chief Minister also addressed stubble burning, urging farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices. He mentioned that the state provides an incentive of Rs 1,500 per acre to farmers who avoid stubble burning. He also cited the Supreme Court’s praise of Haryana’s efforts in stubble management, describing them as commendable.
*Haryana’s Key Role in National Development: Chief Minister*
Speaking at the conference, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized Haryana’s significant contribution to the nation’s food grain reserves. He credited this achievement to the state’s hardworking, dedicated, and progressive farmers. He highlighted that Haryana is the only state in the country where all 24 crops grown by farmers are procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Through the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, farmers are able to register crop and land details online from the comfort of their homes. As a result, they receive payments directly into their bank accounts within 48 hours of selling their produce. Over the past ten procurement seasons, more than Rs 1.48 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts for MSP crop purchases. Additionally, in the last ten and a half years, the government has disbursed over Rs 15,000 crore as compensation to farmers for losses due to natural calamities.
Referring to the ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme, Chief Minister said that the initiative has received nationwide recognition for encouraging innovation and water conservation in agriculture. Under this scheme, farmers are provided financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per acre for either switching from water-intensive paddy cultivation to alternative crops or leaving the land fallow to conserve groundwater. Expressing satisfaction over the scheme's impact, the Chief Minister shared that so far, Rs 157 crore has been disbursed to farmers in Haryana for adopting alternative crops on 2.2 lakh acres of land.
Reiterating the state’s commitment, he said, “Farmers are at the heart of every policy we make. Our consistent effort is not only to support them as food providers but to empower them as strong and self-reliant entrepreneurs.”
He added a message for other states and said, “Agriculture should not be seen merely as grain production. It is the backbone of the rural economy and a developed India. Strengthening it is our shared responsibility.”

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sh Piyush Goyal, commended Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini for receiving the Policy Leadership Award, recognizing his government's outstanding initiatives in the agriculture sector. He stated that Haryana is consistently advancing under CM Saini’s dynamic leadership. He highlighted that Haryana has introduced several innovative policies aimed at transforming agriculture into a profitable enterprise. In his address, he lauded the state’s all-round development, noting that along with agriculture, sectors such as industry, township development, IT, and the startup ecosystem are also growing rapidly in Haryana. EM meets Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Highlights Haryana's Progressive Education Policies
Union Minister praises Haryana for being the first state to implement the National Education Policy
Chandigarh, July 9 – Haryana Education Minister Sh Mahipal Dhanda met Union Education Minister Sh Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi today. During the meeting, Sh Dhanda informed him that Haryana has implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from the current academic session. Curriculum development is also being aligned accordingly. He said that while the Central Government had set a target for all states to implement NEP by 2030, Haryana has taken the lead by adopting it five years early, in 2025, setting an example for the rest of the country.
Minister Dhanda said that this achievement reflects the Haryana Government's strong commitment to educational reform, made possible through the dedicated efforts of the department's officials. Union Minister Sh Dharmendra Pradhan commended Haryana for becoming the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy.
Sh Dhanda also briefed the Union Minister on several of Haryana’s flagship programmes. He shared that students from government schools have shown outstanding performance in national-level entrance exams like JEE and NEET, with 72 students achieving success—an impressive milestone for public education in the state.

Haryana Government plans One-Time Settlement scheme for defaulting CMR delivery - Rajesh Nagar
Chandigarh, July 9 – Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr. Rajesh Nagar said that the state government is working on a one-time settlement scheme for rice millers who defaulted on Custom Milled Rice (CMR) delivery in previous years and have outstanding dues.
Mr. Nagar chaired a meeting with the Rice Millers Association today to discuss the matter. He stated that rice millers who fulfilled their CMR delivery obligations to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) within the department's stipulated deadline have been awarded bonus by the department.
Printing & Stationary to supply photocopy paper to Departments
Minister said that the photocopy paper required by various state departments will now be supplied by the Printing and Stationery Department. He stated that this initiative will not only reduce government expenditure but also save time and enhance transparency in departmental operations.
New technology machines to be used for printing
He directed officials of the Printing and Stationery Department to identify all land parcels owned by the department across the state and prepare a comprehensive plan for their effective utilization. He also instructed that modern, technology-driven machines should be adopted for printing processes to enhance efficiency and improve the quality of work.

Dr. Sahib Ram Godara promoted as Additional Director
Chandigarh, July 9 – Haryana Government has promoted Dr. Sahib Ram Godara, currently serving as Joint Director in the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages, to the post of Additional Director.
Dr. Godara is presently in charge of the Press Section at the department’s headquarters in Chandigarh. He began his career in the department as a District Information and Public Relations Officer and has served in various districts across Haryana. Over the years, he has held key positions including Deputy Director and Joint Director, bringing with him a wealth of experience in public communication and media management.

Haryana Government amends Right to Service Act
RTS Commission can now take suo motu cognizance of delay in service
Chandigarh, July 9 - Taking a big step towards ensuring timely services to its citizens, the state government has amended the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014. Now, if the designated officer or grievance redressal authority does not decide on the application or appeal within the stipulated time period, the Right to Service Commission will be able to take suo motu cognizance in such cases. If undue delay is found in the disposal of the application or appeal, the Commission will be able to pass appropriate orders.
According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, a new provision has been added replacing Rule 9 of the Haryana Right to Service Rules, 2014. These rules will be called 'Haryana Right to Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025'.
If before the application for availing any notified service, the matter concerned is pending before any Court or the Revisional Authority of the concerned Department, then the Commission shall not exercise its powers under section 17 of the Act against the designated officer or the First or Second Grievance Redressal Authority until a final decision is given by the Court or the Revisional Authority.
