Thalassemic Charitable Trust to Organize its 315th Blood Donation Camp in Association with PGIMER Chandigarh

In a continued commitment to saving lives and supporting patients with chronic blood disorders, the Thalassaemic Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER Chandigarh, is organizing its 315th Blood Donation Camp with the support of Bal Niketan, Panchkula.

The camp will be held on 28th June 2025 (Saturday) from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Bal Niketan, Sector 2, Panchkula.

The Department of Anatomy, PGIMER, Chandigarh has received the body of Mr Rajindra Kumar Jain, S/o Shree Chand Jain, aged 83 years, R/o Shastri Colony, Yamuna Nagar on 27th June 2025.

The body was graciously donated by his wife Mrs Chakresh Jain, sons Mr Amit Kumar Jain & Mr Anuj Kumar Jain, and daughter Mrs Anubha Jain on 27th June 2025.

The Department is grateful to the family members and admires them for this noble gesture.

DDTC, PGI organised awareness sessions to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

There Department of Psychiatry, Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centre (DDTC), PGIMER, Chandigarh has organised an awareness session to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2025. The event took place at DDTC OPD at 11:00 am

The theme for this year is Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention; Break the Cycle.
Dr. Rahul Chakravarty, Assistant Professor and Dr. Kshitij, Assistant Professor, Dr. Harsh Thapa, Senior Resident shared about the different types of drugs and their impact on the health. Dr. Kshitij talked about the severe impact of drug abuse and addiction is having on people's lives, and also on societal peace, development, and growth

Ms. Nikita, Ms. Arpna Rattu, and Ms. Neetu Rani, Medical Social Worker, had talked about the stigma related to treatment.
As part of the event, B.Sc. (nursing) students and patients participated in poster-making and slogan-writing competitions. The students were felicitated by the faculty. The second event took place in the community at Indra Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh at 4:00 pm. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of prevention, treatment, and support in addressing drug abuse and illicit trafficking. DDTC, PGIMER Chandigarh reaffirms its commitment to addressing substance abuse and promoting a healthier community.
