CHANDIGARH, 13.02.25-The Department of Fashion Designing at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, organized a three-day workshop on "Fashion Illustration and Rendering" on February 8, 10, and 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm under the PM-USHA Scheme. A total of 45 students from M.Voc FTAD, B.Voc FTAD, and B.A. Fashion Designing, along with 5 faculty members, participated in the workshop, which was conducted by Ms. Rashmita Kanojia, a Fine Art Instructor known for her expertise in creative design and artistic rendering techniques.
Dr. Sumita Sikka, Head of Fashion Designing, welcomed the resource person, Ms. Rashmita Kanojia, with a planter. During the three-day workshop, students learned essential skills in fashion illustration and rendering. Day 1 focused on fabric rendering, where participants practiced depicting realistic textures and fabric movement for materials like sequin fabric, satin, designer net, and velvet. Day 2 covered live jewelry rendering, teaching techniques to illustrate intricate designs with metallic textures and gemstone reflections. Day 3 explored draped saree rendering, emphasizing how to capture the flow and folds of sarees to portray their elegance and movement in fashion sketches. The workshop concluded with a presentation of their work, where participants showcased their creations and received feedback from Ms. Rashmita Kanojia.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma appreciated Ms. Kanojia for her enriching sessions, highlighting the importance of such workshops in equipping students with industry-relevant skills and nurturing creativity. Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, Dean of Arts, encouraged the students to continue exploring their creative potential and apply the skills learned during the workshop. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vivek Sharma, Registrar of the College, who expressed appreciation to Ms. Rashmita Kanojia for her valuable contribution to the workshop, as well as to the students and faculty for their enthusiasm and dedication.
