Chief Minister starts IPD services at AIMSS, Chamiyana

AIMSS to become First hospital to start robotic surgery: CM

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the In-Patient Department (IPD) services at the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties (AIMSS) at Chamiyana near Shimla. In order to cope-up with the patient load at IGMC Shimla and provide better healthcare facilities, the departments of Gastroenterology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Urology and Plastic Surgery have been shifted from the IGMC to the Chamiyana Super Specialty Hospital. In the next two months, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS) services would also be transferred to this hospital.

During inspection, he directed the officials to ensure to provide quality healthcare services to the patients. He also held a meeting in the campus and enquired about the services being provided to patients and issued necessary directions for their improvement. During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the Public Works Department to improve the approach road leading towards the hospital and stated that the transport facilities would also be enhanced for the convenience of patients.

As Chamiyana hospital has been under construction for quite some time, the present Government has undertaken the completion work from its own resources and Rs. 23 crore has been sanctioned for it, remarked the Chief Minister. The hospital has a capacity of 337 beds and is equipped with high-end operation theatres and a cath lab. While it has just started, it will become fully functional within the next six months, he said.

The State Government was upgrading Chamiyana Hospital as well as all medical colleges, zonal hospitals and regional hospitals with modern technology to ensure world-class facilities for patients within the State itself. It would go a long way in saving their time and money. Chamiyana will also be the first hospital in the state to offer robotic surgery, followed by Tanda. Three Tesla MRI machines would soon be installed in the medical colleges of Tanda, Hamirpur and Nerchowk to provide specialized services to patients. The current MRI machine at the IGMC was 19 years old and is being replaced by the State Government.

The Chief Minister said: "We are spending Rs. 200 crore to implement modern technology in the hospitals and were consistently working to make our medical services, world-class."

Deputy Chief Whip hails CM's decision to shift offices to Kangra

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today and hailed the decision of the government to shift the public offices from District Shimla to Kangra.

He apprised the Chief Minister that several government buildings were lying vacant in various Gram Panchayats of his Shahpur Vidhan Sabha constituency, including in Naddi village in Lanjani, Sudhed, Gharoh, Chadi, Shahpur, Rehlu, Kalyada and Rait Gram Panchayats. He said that the offices could be shifted to buildings in these areas so that the people residing in these panchayats could benefit from the decision.

Chief Minister assured the Pathania that the government would positively consider these options for the shifting of government offices. He added that Shahpur and Dharmashala were next to each other therefore, shifting of offices to these Gram Panchayats would immensely benefit the people residing in both of the assembly constituencies.

Kewal Singh said that the shifting of these offices would help in solving the overcrowding in the State capital vis-à-vis ensuring equitable development in Kangra

राजस्व, बागवानी, जनजातीय विकास एवं जन शिकायत निवारण मंत्री जगत सिंह नेगी ने आज यहां बताया कि 7 मई, 2025 को मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू कुल्लू जिला की तीर्थन घाटी के शरची में ‘सरकार गांव के द्वार’ कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि अन्य कैबिनेट मंत्रियों के कार्यक्रम का शेड्यूल भी जल्द जारी किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि जन शिकायतों का समाधान करना वर्तमान राज्य सरकार की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है और प्रदेश सरकार इस दिशा में निरंतर बहुआयामी प्रयास कर रही है। राजस्व मंत्री ने कहा कि जन शिकायतों के त्वरित निवारण के लिए ही प्रदेश सरकार ने ‘सरकार गांव के द्वार’ कार्यक्रम शुरू किया है।
उन्होंने कहा कि इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से लोगों के साथ सीधा संवाद स्थापित होता है और उनकी समस्याओं का समयबद्ध समाधान भी सुनिश्चित होता है।

Aadhaar based Authentication workshop conducted for Police, Registrars

The Department of Digital Technologies and Governance (DDTG), in collaboration with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Regional Office, Chandigarh, conducted a workshop for Himachal Police and Registrars today at IT Bhawan, Mehli, Shimla. The objective of the workshop was to familiarize police and registrars with the latest developments in Aadhaar and to demonstrate how Aadhaar can be effectively used as a tool for resident identity verification.

Around 35 participants from the DDTG, Samagra Siksha (Education), Postal Department, Department of Health and BSNL also attended the workshop, which covered various topics related to the Aadhaar ecosystem, rules and regulations, authentication modules, valid documents for Aadhaar enrolment and updation, mandatory biometric update for children on attaining age of 5 and 15 years and document update.

Speaking on the occasion, Director UIDAI Jagdish Kumar emphasized the need of using both online and offline modes for verification of Aadhaar. He stated that any Aadhaar could be verified from the official website as well as the mAadhaar Application. Live demo was also given on the Aadhaar verification module. Examples of Digi Yatra and Jeevan Praman were given to show the effectiveness of Aadhaar in quick delivery of public services. He further explained that any Government or Private Department can start Aadhaar authentication for good governance for social welfare, innovation and knowledge.

The director of the UIDAI assured that such sessions would be held on regular intervals so that the administration could be apprised about latest developments of the UIDAI. He further stated that the workshop marked a significant step towards enhancing the use of Aadhaar based authentication and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
