Chandigarh, January 18- In an attempt to protect the interest of the farmer of the State Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (Hafed) decided to procure around 20,000 MT Paddy from different Mandis of the State to stabilise the market as during the month of November, 2021 there had been a sudden downfall in the market price of Basmati rice and other similar variety of rice.

While giving further information and official spokesperson said that a delegation of Hafed comprising of Chairman, Hafed, MD Hafed and CGM Hafed visited Dubai in the month of December, 2021 and for meeting potential buyers of rice. As a result Hafed has received a confirm export supply order of 5,000 MT of Indian Sella Basmati Rice from a leading importer of Saudi Arabia namely M/s Saleh A Babaker Sons Co., Riyadh.

He informed that in the past, Hafed has successfully executed Export orders of 870 MT Rice of the different varieties including Indian Long Grain, 1121 Basmati Sella and Basmati Sella to Dubai, (UAE) to the tune of 5 crore (682000 USD) during the month of April, 2021.

(HAFED) is an Apex Cooperative Federation of the Haryana Government with a turnover of over Rs. 16,000 crores for the financial year 2020-21. It is playing a leading role in serving the farmers of the State by procuring/processing their produces by doing value addition on their produce for further sale in domestic as well as in overseas market.
