Two arrested under NDPS ACT
A case FIR No. 57 u/s 18 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 49 on the complaint of Tara Chand, Welfare Officer, Model Jail, Sector-51, Chandigarh, against undertrial Bunty S/o Sanjay Paswan, R/o H. No. 829, near Mata Raj Kaur Gurudwara, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, aged 31 years.
The accused, an undertrial prisoner, had been sent to PGIMER, Chandigarh, for treatment under the custody of Chandigarh Police. After returning to the jail, he reached the jail gate during the personal search, a black pouch concealed in his underwear was recovered. The pouch was found to contain 6.20 grams of an opium-like substance and 22.25 grams of a jarda-chuna-like substance.
A case FIR No. 179 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 36 on the complaint of SI Baljinder Singh 1819/CHG against Gulshan Sikta S/o Surat Singh, R/o Tehsil Chopal, Halau, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, aged 23 years. The accused was apprehended from near the forest area, Sector-43, Chandigarh, on 03-10-2026 at about 7:25 PM, while allegedly consuming heroin using foil paper, a lighter and a ₹10 currency note. The said articles were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
CHEATING
A case FIR No. 168 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Kulwant Singh R/o H. No. 5690, Sector-56, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that an unknown person cheated him of ₹2,18,440.34/- in connection with malicious APK file checking and payment of pending RTO challans. Investigation of the case is in progress.
