Chandigarh, 21 September 2026-A delegation of the National Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Force (NHRACF), Chandigarh, led by President Sh. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, along with members met the Hon’ble SSP Chandigarh at Police Headquarters. The delegation submitted a representation highlighting concerns regarding snatching, burglary, street crime, drug-related activities, stabbing and other unlawful incidents, particularly in Sectors 44, 45, 52, Burail, Kajheri and adjoining areas. The delegation suggested increased police patrolling, effective nakas, functional CCTV monitoring, enhanced vigilance in sensitive areas and stronger community-police coordination, with special attention to the safety of senior citizens, women and children.

The SSP gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured that the issues raised would be examined and appropriate action taken as per law. NHRACF reiterated its commitment to working constructively with Chandigarh Police for a safer, drug-free and secure Chandigarh.
