Chandigarh, September 20, 2026: As many as 212 young participants took part in the Nasha Mukti Shapath Chakra and Signature Campaign organised by MY Bharat Chandigarh at Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, on Saturday. The event marked the launch of the nationwide 100-week-long Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan.

Organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the programme aimed to engage young people in the national campaign against drug and substance abuse and encourage them to become active ambassadors of a healthy and drug-free society.

The Nasha Mukti Shapath Chakra and Signature Campaign was the key attraction of the programme. A total of 212 young participants took a collective pledge to stay away from drugs, contribute towards building a drug-free India and signed in support of the campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, Chandigarh, said, “The 100-week-long Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide youth-led movement. The youth of Chandigarh have an important role to play in taking its message to every college, institution and community. Our objective is not merely to create awareness but also to empower young people to become active ambassadors of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.”

He called upon the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, discourage substance abuse among their peers and actively contribute towards building a healthier and more responsible society.

The programme also included youth-led discussions, slogan-writing and other awareness activities focusing on the harmful effects of substance abuse and the role of young people in creating a drug-free society.

The event was organised in collaboration with Dev Samaj College for Women and witnessed active participation by students, faculty members and MY Bharat volunteers.

The initiative is part of the larger Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan, which seeks to mobilise India’s youth towards the collective vision of a healthy, responsible and developed nation.
