Chandigarh, 12 September 2026:The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme, organised by MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, under the special theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”, was held at Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45-B, Chandigarh, with enthusiastic participation of students and youth.

The programme aimed at sensitising young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging them to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and a Nasha Mukt Bharat.

The programme was graced by Prof. Dr. Neeru Malik, Principal; Dr. Jaspal Kaur, Advisor; Mrs. Rakhi J. Singh, Dean Student Welfare; Dr. Satinder Kaur and Dr. Anupam, VADA Club Incharges; and Dr. Savkirat Kaur, MY Bharat Nodal Officer from Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, Chamdigarh.

Representing MY Bharat, Sh. Shivdhan Sharma, UT Director, MY Bharat Chandigarh; Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, State Director, MY Bharat Punjab; Sh. Hari Prakash, Accounts & Programme Supervisor, MY Bharat Chandigarh; and Sh. Nirmal Singh were present during the programme.

A special session on MY Bharat and the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 was conducted to familiarise students with the MY Bharat platform and various opportunities for youth participation. The VBYLD Quiz was also organised, encouraging students to take their first step towards the VBYLD journey.

A key highlight was the participation of Ms. Manashavi Sharma, MY Bharat Volunteer, who joined the programme as the Youth Icon and delivered an engaging presentation on the harmful impact of substance abuse and the important role of youth in building a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.

The programme also featured an awareness session on substance abuse, a Slogan Writing Competition on “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”, and the collective Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge. The activities provided students with a platform to express their commitment towards a drug-free India and reinforced the message that an empowered and responsible youth population is vital for nation-building.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by the participating youth to lead healthy and responsible lives and actively contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
