Chandigarh, 10 August 2026-A delegation of the National Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Force (NHRACF), led by its President, Sh. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Prof. Meenakshi Goyal. The delegation warmly welcomed Prof. Goyal by presenting her with a Siropa and a flower pot and conveyed its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for a successful, progressive, and visionary tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
During the meeting, the delegation presented Prof. Goyal with a Nasha Mukti Awareness Poster, which had earlier been released by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, during the launch of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Abhiyan” at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh, on 2 August 2026. The delegation discussed the urgent need to strengthen awareness among young people about the serious and harmful consequences of drug abuse. It requested the Vice-Chancellor to encourage colleges affiliated with Panjab University to actively participate in anti-drug awareness programmes and motivate students to adopt a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.
The delegation assured Prof. Goyal of NHRACF’s full support in organising awareness programmes across colleges, including the distribution of educational posters and informative pamphlets. The initiative seeks to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug addiction and inspire them to become responsible ambassadors for a healthy and drug-free society. Prof. Meenakshi Goyal appreciated the initiative and acknowledged NHRACF’s commitment to youth welfare, social awareness, and the fight against drug abuse.
