Chandigarh, 10 August: Start-Up Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised a session on ‘Ideas to Impact : Exploring Incubation Opportunities’. Dr. Simranjit Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, was the resource person.

During the session, Dr. Singh emphasised that successful start-ups often begin with the identification of real-world problems and generation of meaningful ideas. He explained how students can move beyond simply having an idea and systematically shape it into an innovative product, service, or technology with potential for practical application. He discussed the various stages involved in converting an idea into a start-up, including problem identification, ideation, validation, prototype development, market assessment, and commercialisation. He also highlighted the importance of mentorship, networking, teamwork, and incubation support in helping innovators refine their ideas and navigate the early stages of entrepreneurship.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma expressed appreciation for the endeavour stating that it empowered students to embrace innovation and actively contribute to technology-driven start-ups in future.
