Chandigarh, June 1:- Acting on the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the Enforcement Wing of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh carried out an intensive city-wide enforcement drive today against unauthorized vending, encroachments and violations in various parts of the city.
As part of the special operation, enforcement teams removed approximately 25 unauthorized coconut-selling sites operating without permission from different locations across Chandigarh. During the drive, various items including tarpaulins, watermelon tables, weighing balances and other encroaching material were impounded.
The teams also conducted a focused drive in the Transport Area, Sector 26, where seven unauthorized fish sellers were removed for operating in violation of municipal norms. Further action was taken in the Motor Market, Sector 28, where six vehicles found violating regulations were impounded.
In the evening, the enforcement teams continued the drive in the Furniture Market, Sector 34, to ensure compliance with civic regulations and maintain public convenience.
A total of 53 challans were issued during the day's operations for various violations. The drive was conducted peacefully and forms part of the Municipal Corporation's ongoing efforts to keep public spaces free from encroachments, ensure orderly urban management and maintain cleanliness and civic discipline across the city.
