Chandigarh/Panchkula, 30.05.26-: On the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, a grand seminar and panel discussion was organized at the headquarters of Samachar Kyari Media Group. The event witnessed the participation of senior journalists, social activists, women representatives, and office-bearers of various organizations. Detailed discussions were held on the current challenges facing journalism, the role of media in democracy, journalists’ safety, impartial reporting, and the changing media landscape.
Rajesh Kumar, Editor-in-Chief and Group Editor of Samachar Kyari Media Group, said in his address that the real purpose of journalism is to ensure accountability between the public and those in power. Vinod Sharma, Tricity President of the Working Journalists of India, emphasized the need for journalists to remain united. He stated that journalists today face numerous challenges related to employment, security, and freedom, and that these issues can only be addressed through collective strength and unity.
Senior journalist P.P. Verma said that while the digital age has increased the speed of news dissemination, it has also heightened the risks of fake news and unverified information. He noted that a journalist’s greatest asset is credibility.
