NSS VOLUNTEER RAJANPREET KAUR HONOURED BY EDUCATION SECRETARY FOR WINNING BEST SPEAKER AWARD AT WORLD YOUTH PARLIAMENT 2026
Chandigarh, 01.04.2026:Bringing immense pride to Chandigarh and the State NSS Cell, Ms. Rajanpreet Kaur, NSS Volunteer of Post Graduate Government College, Sector-11, Chandigarh, was highly appreciated by Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, for her outstanding achievement at the World Youth Parliament 2026 held at Bengaluru, Karnataka from 24th to 26th March 2026.
The prestigious international event was organized by the State NSS Cell in collaboration with the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka and the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK. The event witnessed participation from delegates representing 29 countries.
Ms. Rajanpreet Kaur secured the Best Speaker Award (Runner-Up) during the Question Hour under the theme Youth and Democracy. She presented her views under the Global Anti-Misinformation and Media Literacy Framework Bill 2026, where her impactful articulation, confidence and analytical thinking were widely appreciated by the jury and delegates. Ms. Bhumi and 4 NSS volunteers along with programme officer Khuswant also represented Chandigarh at this global platform, adding to the pride of the Chandigarh.
Appreciating this remarkable achievement, Education Secretary Ms. Prerna Puri stated that such accomplishments by NSS volunteers reflect the strength of youth leadership and the importance of platforms that nurture democratic values, communication skills and global awareness among students. She congratulated Rajanpreet Kaur for bringing laurels to Chandigarh and inspiring other young volunteers to actively participate in nation building.
Dr.Nemi Chand Golia, NSS State Liaison Officer, Chandigarh, congratulated Rajanpreet Kaur and othere volunteers for their commendable representation and stated that their success showcases the vibrant spirit of NSS and the potential of youth to become responsible global citizens. He emphasized that such exposure strengthens the vision of NSS to develop socially responsible and aware young leaders.

Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh Celebrates 68th Annual Prize Distribution Function
Chandigarh: April 01, 2026-The Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector-11, Chandigarh, celebrated its 68th Annual Prize Distribution Function today with academic fervour and celebratory pride. The event honoured the exceptional achievements of students across various domains.
The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Ms. Justice Nidhi Gupta, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, an illustrious alumna of the college, who was the Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Anita Kaushal, Principal, presented the College Annual Report, highlighting the glorious achievements of students at University, National, and International levels. Key institutional milestones mentioned included:
* Winning the Overall Trophy for the 11th consecutive year in the Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival.
* Earning a FOUR star status for the College Institution Innovation Council (IIC) from the Ministry of Education.
* Receiving the Best Institute (Senior Wing) award for NCC Activities.
* Recognition for environmental conservation, sustainable development, and "Eat Right Campus" initiatives.
Approximately 500 trophies and prizes were distributed to meritorious students. The Chief Guest, nostalgically recalling her own time at the alma mater, lauded the faculty and students for the institution's multidimensional progress.
Special memorial scholarships were also awarded, including the Mrs. Pushpa Ojha Award for the All Round Best Students at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.
