Arms Act and firing
A case FIR No. 48 u/s 125, 3(5) BNS and 27-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the statement of SI Neeraj Kumar. It was reported that two unknown persons on an Activa fired two rounds in the air near Botany Department, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh on 17-03-2026. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Robbery
A case FIR No. 49 u/s 309(4) BNS and 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Govind R/o Ishar Nagar, Jhuggi, Pinjore, District Panchkula (Haryana). He alleged that four unknown persons snatched his motorcycle No. HR-49K-5184 at gunpoint near Radha Krishna Mandir, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh on 17-03-2026 . Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 40 u/s 305, 329, 62 and 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Surinder Singh R/o Village Kotla Nihang, Rupnagar (Punjab). He alleged that two unknown persons attempted theft from the rooftop of Beant Singh Memorial, Sector-42, Chandigarh on 16-03-2026 at about 10:00 AM. During the incident, one accused jumped from the rooftop and sustained injuries, while the other fled. Investigation of the case is in progress.
