Chandigarh, 5 March:Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a workshop on ‘Environment, Recycling and Waste Management as Global Best Practices’ as part of the Student R&D Orientation Program. The initiative was undertaken by the R&D Cell and Climate Cell in collaboration with Eco Club- Parivesh to sensitise students towards environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
The session was conducted by Mr. Gautam Sharma, CEO, Surya Zero Waste. In his insightful address, he highlighted contemporary environmental challenges and emphasised the urgent need to adopt scientific and eco-friendly waste management practices. Through examples drawn from his professional journey, he encouraged students to explore research-driven solutions and innovative start-up ideas in the field of environmental sustainability. The workshop also included featured interactive discussions that enabled students to exchange ideas and gain practical insights into global recycling strategies and sustainable development practices.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative and remarked that such programmes play a vital role in nurturing environmental consciousness and inspiring young minds to contribute meaningfully towards sustainable development through research, innovation, and responsible practices.
