MAHENDERGARH, 06.02.26-An expert lecture titled “From Research Lab to Leadership: Building a Career Across Science, Marketing and Startups” was organized at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology and the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
The programme began with the University Kulgeet, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The event was formally inaugurated with the blessings and welcome address by Prof. Sunita Srivastava, President, IIC. In her address, she emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary thinking, a startup-oriented mindset, innovative approaches, and adaptability among students and researchers to meet the demands of the present professional and industrial landscape. The invited speaker, Sheetal Arora, Founder and CEO of SportsIngo, shared her professional journey from scientific research to marketing leadership and entrepreneurship. She interacted with the students and encouraged them to think about their own startup ideas, leverage their existing skills, and embrace failures as essential components of career growth and startup development. She motivated students to explore opportunities beyond conventional academic pathways.
Sheetal Arora also explained how research-based skills play a crucial role in industry and startup ecosystems. Her venture, SportsIngo, has been recognized among the Top 100 Startups by Google and by NITI Aayog among the Top 75 Women Entrepreneurs in India. The session was graced by university officials, including Prof. Rupesh Deshmukh, Prof. Jai Prakash Bhukar, and Dr. Parveen Kumar, the organizing secretaries of the programme, Dr. Humira Sonah, Swati Choudhary, Dr. P. Kumar, Dr. Gajender Singh, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Sandeep Dhull, along with faculty members from various departments. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Parveen Kumar, followed by the National Anthem. Faculty members, research scholars, and students from different departments attended the lecture.
