Chandigarh, January 2 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, taking a firm stand against irregularities in the crop procurement system, said the state government is fully committed to purchasing every grain of farmers’ produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He made it clear that fraudulent procurement will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini was presiding over a high-level meeting, aimed at making the crop procurement system more transparent and effective here today. Urban Local Bodies Minister Sh Vipul Goyal and Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Sh Rajesh Nagar were also present in the meeting.

Issuing strict instructions to officers of the concerned procurement agencies, the Chief Minister said regular and effective field-level monitoring must be ensured during the upcoming procurement season so that farmers’ produce is purchased at MSP without any hindrance. Taking serious note of irregularities detected in procurement in the past, he directed that such issues must not recur. He further stated that immediate and strict disciplinary action should be taken against any officer or employee found involved in fraudulent procurement, sending a clear message that wrongdoing will not be tolerated at any level.

The Chief Minister also directed that if any sheller or commission agent is found involved in collusion or serious irregularities, strict action along with heavy penalties should be imposed. He said the committee of the concerned department should only inspect shellers, and no officer or employee should conduct inspections individually. Any violation of this directive should invite immediate disciplinary action.

He further instructed that end-to-end technical monitoring of crops—from farmers’ fields to mandis and from mandis to shellers—must be ensured through the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal to eliminate the possibility of irregularities at any stage.

The Chief Minister said that all 24 crops are being procured at MSP in the state, making it mandatory to update accurate crop data on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. For this purpose, Gram Sachivs, patwaris, and block-level officers should be involved to collect comprehensive information on the area under cultivation for each crop. Coordination with reports received from HARSEC (Haryana Space Applications Centre) should also be ensured. He suggested involving the state’s agriculture and horticulture universities to provide expert support in this process.

The meeting was informed that the department is making special arrangements using advanced technology for the upcoming Kharif procurement season to ensure farmers face no inconvenience while selling their produce in mandis. Training will also be provided to officers and employees of all concerned departments at the divisional level for effective implementation of these technologies.

Sports University, Rai to be a place for future olympians and International players, Not just an educational centre: Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam

Rs. 114 Crore allocated for repair and rejuvenation of sports stadiums across the state

Chandigarh, January 2 – Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that the Sports University, Rai (Sonipat) will be developed at a cost of Rs. 491 crore. He said the university will not be merely a centre of education, but a laboratory for preparing future Olympians and international-level players. The university will provide world-class facilities for sports grounds, training, accommodation, and nutrition in line with international standards.

The Sports Minister was chairing a review meeting today at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, with officers of the Sports Department, Sports University, Rai (Sonipat), and the Public Works Department (PWD). During the meeting, discussions were also held on finalising the drawings and designs of modern sports infrastructure.

Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that the main objective of the state government is to provide excellent and modern facilities to players. With this vision, the Haryana Government has released Rs.114 crore through the Sports Department for the repair and rejuvenation of sports stadiums across the state. Work has already started at several locations. He informed that additional resources will be spent by the District Sports Council (DSC) to further improve the grading of the sports fields, and a detailed plan is being prepared for this.

The Sports Minister directed that officers at the Deputy Director level must conduct surprise inspections of stadiums in their respective districts at least twice a month. Any shortcomings noticed during inspections will be addressed in a time-bound manner, and accountability of the concerned officers will also be fixed. He said that regular monitoring of sports infrastructure is essential to bring real improvement at the grassroots level.

He said that additional funds for sports will be provided in the upcoming budget so that players from the state can win more medals in national and international competitions and bring glory to the country and state.

The Minister said that daughters of the state are consistently delivering outstanding performances at national and international levels. Sports nurseries play a vital role in improving the performance level of players, and keeping this in mind, the Sports Department is continuously working to provide better facilities in sports nurseries.

State-Level selection trials for 19th Circle National Kabaddi championship to be held on January 5 in village Sutana, Panipat

Chandigarh, January 2 – Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister and President, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India will organise the 19th Circle National Kabaddi Championship (Men and Women) at Shri Gurudwara Sahib, Nainital (Uttarakhand) from January 10 to January 12, 2026. Teams from various states across the country will participate in the championship.

He said that in order to select the Haryana men’s and women’s kabaddi teams for participation in this national championship, state-level selection trials will be held on January 5, 2026, at Village Sutana (Madlauda), District Panipat. During the trials, players will be selected by the selection committee based on their physical fitness, skills, technique, and overall performance. The selection process will be completely transparent, fair, and based on merit, he added.

He further said that Haryana has today emerged as a leading state in the field of sports. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is implementing excellent sports policies for athletes. Sports nurseries, sports academies, centres of excellence, and modern stadiums and gymnasiums are being developed at a fast pace. He said that players who win medals at international and national levels are being provided with cash awards, government jobs, recruitment under the sports quota, scholarships, sports kits, and advanced training facilities. As a result, Haryana athletes are consistently delivering outstanding performances at the Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and national-level competitions.

He said that kabaddi is a traditional sport and a proud heritage of Haryana. Kabaddi arenas and playgrounds are being developed in villages across the state so that rural talent can come forward and shine. He expressed confidence that in the coming times, Haryana players will perform well in this championship and bring glory to the state and the nation.

Chandigarh, January 2 — Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Friday released an amount of Rs. 217.36 crore directly into the bank accounts of 5,794 beneficiaries under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana-I (DAYALU). With this, a total of Rs. 1,881.355 crore has so far been disbursed to 49,998 beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Chief Minister said that significant improvements have been made to the scheme to enhance transparency and ensure that benefits reach actual beneficiaries. The death certificates of beneficiaries are now directly linked with the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), enabling easy verification of death and disability certificates through PPP data. This integration will make the system more transparent and prevent misuse, ensuring that only eligible families receive assistance.

He further informed that, for the convenience of citizens, the Jan Sahayak ‘Help Me’ mobile application has also been launched. Through this app, financial assistance is transferred on time via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of beneficiaries. Applicants can also track their applications and scheme status through the app. The scheme has been implemented to ensure financial stability to citizens in times of distress.

The Chief Minister said that the scheme covers families registered under the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) with an annual income of up to Rs. 1.80 lakh. It is mandatory for eligible families to apply for assistance on the portal within 90 days of an accident. Under the scheme, financial assistance ranging from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh is provided in cases of death or permanent disability due to an accident.

Haryana Gears Up for Landmark Digital Census 2027 with Robust Planning and Budget Allocation

Chandigarh, January 2 — The Haryana Government has formally initiated comprehensive preparations for Census 2027, which will be the first fully digital census to be conducted in the State. The first meeting of the State Level Census Coordination Committee (SLCCC) was chaired by Sh Anurag Rastogi, Chief Secretary, Haryana, during which detailed administrative, logistical and operational arrangements were reviewed to ensure the smooth and timely conduct of this crucial national exercise.

To ensure accuracy, uniformity and credibility of data, the Chief Secretary stated that all administrative boundaries in Haryana have been frozen. No changes will be made until the completion of census operations. In line with Government of India guidelines, the House-listing and Housing Census, which constitutes Phase-I of Census 2027, will commence from May 1, 2026. To strengthen preparedness at the district level, a one-day conference of Deputy Commissioners will be convened shortly to sensitise Principal Census Officers about timelines, responsibilities and detailed operational planning.

Emphasising the importance of meticulous preparation, the Chief Secretary underlined that strong inter-departmental coordination and timely decision-making will be key to the successful execution of Census 2027 and called upon all departments to extend full cooperation. To ensure continuity and avoid disruption, it has been decided that census functionaries will not be transferred during the census period, and necessary instructions will be issued in this regard. For close monitoring and coordination at the grassroots level, Census 2027 will be included as a standing agenda item in monthly district-level review meetings, he added.

Director Census Sh. Lalit Jain, IAS informed the committee that Census 2027 marks a transformational milestone, as the entire exercise will be conducted in digital mode. Demonstrating Haryana’s technological readiness, he said that a 100 per cent digital pre-test using mobile applications was successfully carried out in Panchkula, Hisar and Faridabad, covering a population of over one lakh. The State completed the pre-test within the stipulated timeframe, for which it received appreciation from the Registrar General of India.

For the conduct of census operations, around 60,000 government employees, preferably teachers and other government staff, will be deployed as enumerators and supervisors during the first phase, reflecting the scale and importance of the exercise.

The meeting also took note of changes in the administrative and demographic profile of the State since the 2011 Census. For Census 2027, Haryana will have 23 districts as compared to 21 in 2011, while the number of sub-districts has increased from 75 to 94. Statutory towns have increased from 80 to 88, whereas census towns have declined from 74 to 51. Urban agglomerations have increased significantly from 12 to 20. The number of villages now stands at 6,523 compared to 6,841 in 2011. Houselisting Blocks, which were 45,361 in 2011, are estimated to be around 51,000 for Census 2027.

The approved honorarium structure for Census 2027 was also reviewed. Enumerators and supervisors will receive ₹9,000 for Phase-I and ₹16,000 for Phase-II, making a total honorarium of ₹25,000, payable after the successful completion of work in each phase. Honorariums have also been approved for officers at various levels, including State, divisional, district and sub-divisional levels, to ensure accountability and motivation.

Chandigarh, January 2 — Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini has directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that information regarding Samadhan Shivir is widely and effectively communicated to the general public through various means. He emphasised that citizens should be clearly informed about the dates and timings of the shivirs so that they can register their grievances and seek timely redressal.

The Chief Minister issued these directions while chairing the state-level review meeting of Samadhan Shivir on Friday with all the Deputy Commissioners through video conferencing.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini further directed that complaints received during Samadhan Shivir should be forwarded by the Deputy Commissioners with their clear and specific remarks. He also directed that no complaint should be disposed off or closed at the district level until its complete resolution is ensured.

Reviewing the progress, it was informed that a total of 17,699 complaints have been resolved during the past six months, from July 2025 to December 2025 during the Samadhan Shivirs. It was further informed that Samadhan Shivir are being organised every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the offices of all Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil) across the state. During these Shivir, citizens can directly submit their grievances.

The Chief Minister directed that all complaints received in Samadhan Shivirs must be resolved within a stipulated timeframe. He stressed that citizens attending the shivir should not face any inconvenience and that their issues must be heard with seriousness and sensitivity. He said that any negligence by officers at any level in this regard would invite strict action.

Taking cognizance of a complaint related to water drainage received during a Samadhan Shivir in a village of Ambala district, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini directed the Deputy Commissioner, Ambala, to constitute a committee for the early resolution of the issue. He directed that the committee should include the concerned department’s Executive Engineer (XEN), the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), and a representative from the Market Committee.

Chandigarh, January 2 – Haryana Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that the state government is committed to ensuring the availability of affordable and essential medicines to the general public. With this objective, strict monitoring of medicine prices is being carried out in Haryana to effectively curb overcharging at any level.

The Health Minister said that under the guidelines of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), the Price Monitoring and Resource Unit (PMRU) is actively functioning in Haryana under the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Department. This unit is ensuring that medicines are made available to citizens only at the rates fixed by the government.

Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that the objective of the Haryana Government is to ensure that life-saving medicines are available to every citizen at reasonable and regulated prices. All these measures are being taken keeping in view the health and welfare of the people of the state.

Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration, Sh. Manoj Kumar said that during the year 2025, 33 cases of overcharging of medicines were reported in Haryana, which have been sent to NPPA, New Delhi, for necessary action. This reflects the state government’s strict and transparent policy, under which no compromise will be made with public health.

He further informed that in December 2025, PMRU Haryana detected violations of the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO) in three medicines, wherein the MRP printed on the packs was found to be higher than the prescribed price. Action as per rules has been initiated against the concerned companies in these cases.

Sh. Manoj Kumar said that along with enforcement, the government is also focusing on public awareness. During the year 2025, 13 Information, Education and Communication (IEC) programmes were organised across various districts of the state. In December, awareness programmes were conducted by PMRU drug control officers and field investigators in Kaithal, Yamunanagar, and Sirsa. Through these programmes, chemists and the general public were made aware about maintaining medicine quality, cold chain management, proper record-keeping, and installation of CCTV cameras at chemist shops.

The Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration, appealed to the general public to remain vigilant and use the “Pharma Sahi Daam” mobile application to check the correct prices of medicines. In case of overcharging, complaints can be directly reported to the government. Citizens can also register their complaints on the PMRU Haryana toll-free number 1800-180-2413.

State Drugs Controller-cum-Member Secretary, PMRU, FDA Haryana, Sh. Lalit Kumar Goel informed that the Price Monitoring and Resource Unit is functioning under the Food and Drugs Administration Department, Haryana. The Governing Committee of this unit is chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, while the Executive Committee is chaired by Commissioner, FDA Haryana, Sh. Manoj Kumar. Besides this, under the supervision of Project Coordinators Ms. Jyoti Malhotra and Sh.Parjinder Singh, Assistant State Drugs Controller, Haryana, two field investigators are working in PMRU.
