Chandigarh Police arrested Khushwinder Singh R/o # 183/1 Basant Kunj, Sector-89 Kharar (Punjab) from UILS Department PU, Chandigarh and recovered one country made pistol along with 2 live cartridge from his possession on 03-09-2025. A Case FIR No. 136 U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Sector-11 Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Vikash @ Datla R/o # 1733, Deep Complex Hallo Majra, Chandigarh Near Kabari Market, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 60 quarters of country made liquor & 50 quarters of whisky from his possession on 03.09.2025. A Case FIR No. 175 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Sector-31 Chandigarh. Later on, the accused released on bail. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 188 U/S 316(5), 318(4), 338, 340(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-36 Chandigarh on the complint of Inderjit Sharma Superintendent Accounts Sports Department, Sports Complex Sector-42, Chandigarh against Vakul Rana, Clerk (OS) Sports Department UT Chandigarh R/o # 3097/1, Sector- 47/D, Chandigarh who cheated Rs 3,91,017/- and financial records of sports complex Sector-42, Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 108 U/S 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 338, 61(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Cyber Crime Cell Chandigarh on the complaint of Mandeep S/o Sunder Singh R/o # 423 Sector -46/A, Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated with complainant Rs 8,94,495/- regarding Commission based Investment on online platform through Instagram and whatsapp. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police Hosts Two Days Regional Training on Cryptocurrency & Dark Web Investigations
Chandigarh Police, under the leadership of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP Cyber Crime, UT Chandigarh, organized a two-day regional training programme on cryptocurrency and dark web investigations on 4–5 September 2025 at CenCOPs, Sector 18, Chandigarh.
The programme, organized in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, was designed for approximately 40 law enforcement officers from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh
Experts from I4C, Shri Jitender Singh (ACP, I4C), Shri Mahesh Gupta, and Shri Mrityunjaya the Dark Web Analysis Unit trained officers, delivered sessions on cryptocurrency tracking, blockchain analysis, wallet forensics, and dark web monitoring, equipping them with practical tools to counter new-age cyber threats. The programme aimed to enhance the technical capabilities of law enforcement officers in effectively investigating emerging forms of cybercrime.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal stressed the need for capacity building and regional collaboration to effectively combat cybercrime in the digital era.
