Chandigarh, August 8:- In a powerful step toward fostering patriotism and promoting cleanliness, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today launched the vibrant campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata’ under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

City Mayor Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla unveiled the official poster and formally kicked off the week-long celebration to be held from August 8 to August 15, 2025.

The campaign features an exciting line-up of events including a Tiranga Fair, Tiranga Concert, and widespread promotion of eco-friendly tricolors. Speaking at the launch, the Mayor urged every citizen to take a pledge this Independence Day to segregate waste at source, aiming for Chandigarh to clinch the top rank in the upcoming Swachhata competition.

Schools, public areas, and tourist spots will come alive with tricolor-themed rangolis, art, and cleanliness drives, engaging youth and the community in a blend of culture and civic responsibility. The Tiranga Fair will spotlight local entrepreneurs and reinforce the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, while the Tiranga Concert promises to stir patriotic pride through soulful performances.

A highlight of the campaign is the Eco-friendly Tiranga Initiative, encouraging citizens to ditch plastic and adopt cloth and reusable materials for the national flag.

Door-to-door outreach, waste segregation education, and promotion of cloth bags over plastic will amplify public awareness across neighborhoods.
