CM inaugurates historic Shoolini Fair at Solan
SHIMLA -20th June, 2025-Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the three-day long State-level historic Shoolini Fair at Solan, a vibrant celebration of faith and devotion dedicated to Goddess Shoolini.
The centuries-old fair, marks the symbolic journey of Goddess Shoolini to her elder sister Goddess Durga’s temple at Ganj Bazaar in Solan. The palanquin procession of the deity, a central highlight of the festivities, drew thousands of devotees who lined the streets of Solan to pay their respects and seek blessings of the deity.
The Chief Minister participated in the festivities by offering prayers for the peace and prosperity of the people of the State. He shouldered the palanquin and joined the Shobha Yatra. He also showered flowers on the palanquin as a gesture of reverence.
The Chief Minister also released a souvenir to mark the event brought out by the Mela Committee on the occasion.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the Mela Committee, Manmohan Sharma welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister.
Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, MLAs Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Bawa Hardeep Singh and Suresh Kumar, Chairman of Baghat Cooperative Bank Arun Sharma, Chairman of Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank Mukesh Sharma, Mayor Municipal Corporation Solan Usha Sharma, Congress leaders Surinder Sethi and Shiv Kumar, SP Gaurav Singh and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

CM dedicates multiple development projects in Solan
Inaugurates Model career centre
SHIMLA -20th June, 2025Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his visit to Solan district today, inaugurated the Model Career Centre at Jatoli, constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.32 crore, aiming to provide unemployed youth the employment-related information and guidance. Besides, this career centre will also offer services such as career counseling, skill mapping, preparation for interviews and timely updates on employment openings in both the government and private sectors. The initiative is part of the state government’s vision to empower the youth by enhancing their employability and supporting them towards self-reliance.
In addition, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed office of Excise and Taxation department, built at a cost of Rs. 2.27 crore. The new building offers well-equipped office space and seating arrangements for both staff and the public.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre of the Solan Municipal Corporation, set up at a cost of Rs. 44.99 lakh. The ABC Centre will play a key role in controlling the stray dog population through scientific methods, and is equipped with a modern operation theatre and all necessary veterinary facilities. The Chief Minister also dedicated to the people of the area the Solan Vatika (Park), developed at a cost of Rs. 53 lakh and planted a sapling of Arjuna, a medicinal plant.
Health Minister Col. (Dr.) Dhani Ram Shandil thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating various development projects for Solan area and said that pace of development has been accelerated in the district after the present State Government came to power.
