CM extends warm welcome to Vice President on his arrival at Shimla

SHIMLA - 6 June, 2025-Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended a warm welcome to the Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar on his arrival in Shimla today.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena and other senior officers of the state government were also present on the occasion.

CM presides over closing ceremony of the International Shimla Summer FestivalSHIMLA -6 June, 2025-Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the closing ceremony of the International Shimla Summer Festival held here at the Ridge on Thursday evening.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister released the souvenir of the Summer Festival.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, who is also the Chairman of the International Shimla Summer Festival Organising Committee presented a memento, a traditional Himachali cap, and shawl to the Chief Minister as a token of respect.

Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister also interacted with tourists.

Also present were Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Harish Janartha, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Mayor Surinder Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Vice Chairman Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Kehar Singh Khachi, Advocate General Anup Kumar Rattan and other dignitaries.

Chief Minister emphasizes market oriented skill development of youth

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired the 16th Board of Directors meeting of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) here today. During the meeting, he stressed on the importance of skill development to create employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth.

He directed the Nigam to formulate a comprehensive action plan for the market-driven training programmes and ensure their effective implementation. He said that enhancing the capacity and employability of the youth must remain the focus of all initiatives.

The Chief Minister further directed the HPKVN to expedite the ongoing construction work of Centre of Excellence at Waknaghat in Solan district, Model Career Centres Kaza and Udaipur, besides Rural Livelihood Centre, Nalagarh. He said that the Nigam should ensure quality in the construction works, so that the youth could get maximum benefit.

The Board also approved expenditure for obtaining fire NOC for RLC Seraj, Model Career Centres Mandi and Baddi.

Sh. Sukhu stated that from 1 January, 2023 till now, 45,455 youth have been enrolled in various schemes and projects of Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. Of these, 39,794 have been given training certificates and 8,586 trainees have been placed.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, HPKVN State Convenor Atul Karohta, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar, Secretaries Ashish Singhmar and Sandeep Kadam and senior officers were present in the meeting.
