SHIMLA, 23.05.25-Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan while responding to the High Court decision on Vimal Negi’s case stated that the Government was always open to heed to any request of the family members of Vimal Negi to get justice delivered to the bereaved family members.

He stated that right from the day when the body of Vimal Negi was recovered, the government heeded to the request of the family members of late Sh. Negi and on the direction of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Thakur immediately registered an FIR against the officers of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) who were reported to be involved in a misbehavioural attitude and later suspended these officers on the demand of the wife and relatives of Vimal Negi.

Apart from this, an inquiry was given to a senior IAS officer of the rank of Additional Chief Secretary to look into the reasons that were being reported by the family members of Vimal Negi. The government also constituted Special Investigation Teams (SIT's) in this regard. The government made every possible efforts on the directions of the Chief Minister and as requested by the family of Sh. Negi for a thorough probe and to find out the reasons into the death of Vimal Negi.

He stated that the Chief Minister was always open to all the demands of the family of Sh. Negi, so that justice could be done to bring the culprits to book. He said that the Government accepts the decision of the High Court for handing over the case to CBI. If the family of Vimal Negi believes that there was a foul play leading to the death of Sh. Negi, the government openly accepts the judgment of the High Court in the case. If there is some suspicion which the family believes was left to be investigated, the CBI, will certainly look into all the aspects without doubt so that justice could be delivered, he said.
