CHANDIGARH,18 May, 2025 Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the 1 Chandigarh Girls Battalion, hosted the Pipping Ceremony of the NCC Army Wing for the session 2025–26. The solemn and dignified ceremony was a celebration of the conferring of ranks on newly appointed cadet leaders, and underscored the spirit of discipline, leadership, and commitment that defines the National Cadet Corps.
Gracing the ceremony by her inspiring presence, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma applauded the cadets’ unwavering dedication and exemplary discipline, and emphasised the college’s enduring commitment to empowering young women. “Our NCC cadets exemplify resilience, strength, and leadership. Their accomplishments reflect the values we uphold at MCM DAV - to nurture women who lead with integrity, courage, and conviction,” she stated. She also expressed gratitude to the 1 Chandigarh Girls Battalion NCC and the Chandigarh Group Headquarters for their steadfast guidance and continued support in shaping the character and leadership abilities of the cadets.
The highlight of the event was the appointment of Manya Bahl as Senior Under Officer (SUO). A distinguished recipient of the DGNCC Medallion, Manya’s promotion stands as a testament to her exceptional calibre and the robust training imparted by the college’s NCC unit. Joining her were other deserving cadets who were recognised for their outstanding performance and leadership potential, and were appointed Under Officers (UOs), Sergeants (Sgts), Corporals (CPLs), and Lance Corporals (LCPLs).
