Chandigarh, 14.09.26-Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh organised a Memorial Lecture and MoU signing ceremony in remembrance of Late Shri Sudhir Gupta, PEC alumnus and Silver Medalist of the 1990 batch. As part of the initiative, the Gupta family committed to sponsoring the engineering education fees of one eligible girl student at PEC, dedicating the contribution to the cause of girl-child education.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director (Ad-interim), PEC, and Dr. Rajesh Kanda, Dean, Alumni Relations, with members of Shri Sudhir Gupta’s family, including Shri Daya Kishan Gupta, Mrs. Rashmi Gupta, Ms. Sunita Gupta and Mr. Aarush Gupta, in attendance. Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Head, Department of Electrical Engineering and a classmate of Late Shri Sudhir Gupta, was also present.
A Memorial Lecture on “Energy Security and Strengthening India’s Green Pathways” was delivered by Shri S. K. Sinha, Engineering Consultant, PNGRB, Government of India. Addressing the gathering, the Director paid tribute to Shri Sudhir Gupta’s life, sacrifice and ethical values, and called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from individuals who upheld integrity and service.
The programme was coordinated and organised by Shri Deepak Jain, Senior Solution Architect, Orange Business, PEC alumnus, and a classmate and close friend of Late Shri Sudhir Gupta.
