MAHENDERGARH,07.11.25-The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, in collaboration with the Group for the Promotion of Art, Culture and Heritage, organized a special programme on Friday to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the National song Vande Mataram.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that Vande Mataram was not only a source of inspiration during the freedom struggle but also a symbol of Indian identity and cultural pride. He added that such celebrations encourage national consciousness, responsibility, and the spirit of cultural preservation among youth. The participants also joined Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma in watching the live telecast of the commemorative event held in New Delhi and benefited from the Prime Minister’s address.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor highlighted the historic significance of the song, stating that despite being banned by the British, it played a unifying role in the freedom movement. He said that the song continues to unite the nation and expressed confidence that collective efforts will help realize the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar, NSS Coordinator, delivered the welcome address. Students Pooja, Chirag, Manish, Akashdeep, Vaishnavi, and Ravi presented patriotic cultural performances. The stage was conducted by Ashmi Taga and Dinesh Kumar. The programme was attended by Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Renu Yadav, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Mukesh Upadhyay, Dr. Neelam, Dr. Abhiranjan, faculty members, officers, staff, students, and research scholars in large numbers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Arti Yadav.
