Chandigarh:07.01.19- Air wing NCC Combined Annual Training Camp is underway at Air Force Station Chandigarh from January 01 to 10. A total of 108 NCC cadets, including 39 girls from various institutions of city beautiful are undergoing training in the camp. As part of training Cadets were given exposure to aviation activities by Air Force Station by organising a tour to various sections of the station. During the visit, Air Commodore Tejbir Singh AVSM VM, Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Chandigarh interacted with the cadets and motivated the cadets to join the Armed Forces. Cadets were taken on an organised tour of Air Squadrons and were shown the Chinook Helicopter, AN-32, IL-76 and C-17 aircraft. The cadets were also explained the various capabilities of the aircraft and the important role performed by them as well as training of pilots who flies these aircrafts. Various parts of the aircraft viz. airframe, engine and equipment fitted in the cockpit were also highlighted to the cadets.

This combined annual training camp of the unit was planned with a view to provide an insight into the functioning of the Indian Air Force and to motivate them to join the service. Chandigarh Air wing NCC has a rich history and is known as a feeder NCC squadron for the Armed Forces, said Group Captain M R Pandeya, Camp Commandant and Commanding Officer of Air wing NCC Chandigarh.
