Chandigarh 27 Jul 2019. NCC Air wing cadets organised a tree plantation drivetowards commemorating the 20th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. 51 saplings of Ashokatrees were planted at NCC Complex, Sector 31 Chandigarh and dedicated to the warriors of Kargil. Brigadier Ranjit Singh Group Commander NCC Chandigarh, Col Sanjay Khandaria, Training Officer, Group captain M R Pandeyand Wing Commander Srinivaswere present on the occasion along with the cadets.
This is our tribute to martyrs of Kargil war specially to Captain Vikrambatra who was our senior being NCC Air wing cadet of No. 1 Chandigarh Air Squadron in 1994, says Cadet Aman Khan.
Brigadier Ranjit Singh while addressing the cadets said “Celebrate the memory of someone special by planting trees in their name. Your gift will serve as a lasting, living memorial”.
