CHANDIGARH, 17.09.22-In view of the nation-wide Blood Donation Drive under the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav launched by Govt. of India Ministry of Health and Family welfare, the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh has conducted following three Blood Donation Camps in which more than 300 Voluntary Blood Donors donated blood:

Prof.Vivek Lal, Director, PGI, Chandigarh has set the tone for the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav and started a campaign by donating blood himself and asked the entire PGI family to come forward for this noble cause. Prof.R. Sehgal, Dean (Academic) and Prof.Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent, have also donated blood on this occasion. The unique feature of this campaign was that the Director, Dean (Academics) and Medical Superintendent of the institute donated blood.

This will certainly go a long way in motivating the entire PGI family comprising faculty, residents, technical staff, Nursing Officers and other support staff to come forward for this noble cause during this campaign. The certificates were also issued to the Voluntary Blood Donors through E-Raktkosh portal (https://www.eraktkosh.in) of Govt. of India. A lot of enthusiasm was noticed among the blood donors in all the above blood donation camps

This event will be celebrated from 17thSeptember 2022 to 1stOctober 2022 to create awareness and promote the cause of Voluntary Blood Donations among the public.
