MV Theft
Dr. Ramesh Katariya R/o # TF-34, PU Campus, Sector-14, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away his bicycle parked in front of his residence on 23-12-2021. A case FIR No. 178, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A girl resident of Sector-29, Chandigarh alleged that Lokesh Kumar R/o # 1360, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh, Ravi Kagra R/o # 187, Janta Colony, Naya Gaon, Mohali (PB) and a lady resident of Dariaya, Chandigarh cheated Rs. 9,65,000/- from complainant regarding sale of a plot in Eco City, Ph-2, Mullanpur, Distt. Mohali (PB) on 13.04.2021. But the alleged persons did not provide any plot nor returned his money. A case FIR No. 208, U/S 406, 420 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Assault/deterred public servant
A case FIR No. 250, U/S 323, 353, 379-A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Amrik Singh who alleged that driver of unknown auto along with one boy and a lady quarreled/assaulted complainant while on duty near Gate No. 1, Police Line, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 25.12.2021. They pelted stones on the complainant and ran away after snatching his mobile phone. Investigation of the case is in progress.

CHANDIGARH,26.12.21-Chandigarh Police achieved major success by cracking “MV theft cases” by arrest of 01 accused and recovered 9 motorcycles and 03 Activa by the special team of Police Station-36 Chandigarh.
In view of recent reported theft of two wheelers in Chandigarh, a team under the supervision of Mr. Mridul, IPS, ASP/South/West, led by Insp. Jaspal Singh, SHO/36 was constituted to develop the information about the persons behind it. The team started developing the information through human and technical intelligence. The efforts of the team yielded result. As per the developed secret information, on 22.12.21, a trap was laid down in Sector 42, where suspect was rounded up. On verification, a motorcycle was stolen from lake Sector 42, in Case FIR No. 247 dt 18.12.21 u/s 379 IPC add 411 IPC, PS 36, Chandigarh, was recovered.
Accused arrested: -
• Chhinderpal S/o Balbir Singh R/o Village Kutabgarh Bhata Guruharsahai, Ferozepur, Pb Age 26 yrs
The accused was arrested and his police custody remand was obtained from the Hon’ble Court. During interrogation, he admitted to have stolen many two wheelers from Chandigarh and Mohali. With his arrest 04 cases of PS-36, 02 cases of PS-49 and 02 cases of PS Phase-8, Mohali have been worked out.
Modus Operandi:
During interrogation, it revealed that accused is found of riding and wants to sell vehicles to get easy money and fulfill his desires/needs.
Recovery: -
Total 12 Two wheelers (09 motorcycles & 03 Activas) has been recovered from the accused. ,
Total 08 cases (i.e. 06 cases of Chandigarh & 02 cases of Mohali) have been worked out and remaining 04 vehicles are being verified. The details of worked out cases is as under: -

Criminal History:
Accused is involved in theft cases as mentioned above and however, his criminal record is being verified.
Police remand of accused has been obtained from the Hon’ble Court. Further investigation is going on.
