Chandigarh, August 6 – Haryana Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij today announced that on the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, women and children (up to 15 years of age) will be provided free travel facility in Haryana Roadways' ordinary buses.

Sh. Vij said that a proposal in this regard has been approved by the Chief Minister.

He said that the state government has decided to provide free travel facility to women of all age groups and their children (up to 15 years of age) in Haryana Roadways’ ordinary buses operating within the state and to Chandigarh and Delhi, so that women/sisters and children can travel conveniently on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

The Transport Minister stated that this free travel facility in Haryana Roadways' ordinary buses for women and children will be available from 12 noon on August 8, 2025, to 12 midnight on August 9, 2025.

Chandigarh, 6 August – Haryana Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that he has received reports that the allocation of routes for private buses has not been done properly. Instructions have been issued to relevant officers to study the schedules and timings of these buses.

Responding to a media question about private buses routes, Sh. Vij said that in many places, private buses depart just ahead of government buses, taking away passengers, leaving state buses empty. He said officials have been asked to investigate these cases and consider changes to the timings or the basis on which such routes were allocated.

He further said that the government has decided to ensure Haryana Roadways buses reach every village in the state. A letter has already been issued to all General Managers of the Transport Department for implementation. He clarified that Haryana Roadways is not a commercial entity but a service-oriented organization.

Regarding new bus purchases, Sh. Vij said that many older buses are being phased out and the procurement process for new buses, especially electric ones, is ongoing.

Chandigarh, 6 August – Chandigarh, August 6 – Haryana's Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij, speaking on the issue of SYL, said, "The Hon’ble Supreme Court is the highest court of our country, and its decisions should be implemented willingly and with respect." He added that the recent meeting between the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana was held in a cordial atmosphere and the decision of the meeting is to go to the Supreme Court. He expressed hope that the Supreme Court will once again rule in favour of Haryana.

While answering questions asked by the media persons today, Sh. Vij said that both Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana acknowledged that their recent meeting on the SYL issue was conducted in a positive atmosphere. He added that a decision from the Supreme Court is awaited and expected to favor Haryana, as it has in the past.

Sh. Vij criticized Punjab for denotifying acquired land and not allowing water to flow to Haryana despite court orders. He pointed out that while excess water from Punjab flows into Pakistan, Haryana continues to face shortages.

On the question of bringing Indus River water, Sh. Vij remarked that “It is by drinking the water of the Indus that we became Hindus, and we should have received a larger share.” He accused Congress of siding with Pakistan and blamed them for giving most of Indus water to Pakistan during their rule. He praised PM Modi for suspended the Indus Water Treaty and initiating plans for that water.

He added that various commissions, including the Justice Reddy Commission, have ruled in Haryana’s favor and the Supreme Court's judgment must be respectfully implemented, as it is the highest court in the land.

Chandigarh, 6 August – Haryana Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the Partition was a painful event caused by Congress. He blamed the party for dividing the country, causing widespread violence and the death of 1 million people.

Sh.Vij said his party decided to observe “Vibhajan Vibhishika Divas” to raise awareness about the tragedy orchestrated by Congress.

He criticized Congress for having no proper planning regarding population transfer during Partition and accused it of dividing the nation based on religion to create Pakistan by allotting land to Muslims, despite calling itself a secular party.

Sh. Vij was responding to questions from media personnel here in Chandigarh today.

Sh. Vij said he wants to charge the inactive and dissatisfied party workers and expressed his desire to see the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) grow even stronger in Haryana.
