*Chief Minister of Haryana Meets GEDU Global Education Group CEO, discusses UK- India investment in education sector in the State*

Chandigarh, 1st August 2026: Honourable Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, held a productive meeting with Dr Vishwajeet Rana, Group Chief Executive Officer of GEDU Global Education, to discuss how GEDU's initiative to open Queen Elizabeth's School, Gurugram, the organisation's first school campus in India, is helping strengthen education standards in the state.

The discussion covered the school's approach to global curriculum delivery under the Cambridge International Curriculum, and how this model could help in Vikshit Bharat 2047.

Queen Elizabeth's School, Gurugram will welcome students from EY1 through to Year 9 at opening, expanding to Year 13 in the years ahead, with boarding facilities supporting students from across the state and the world.

The two also discussed how continued engagement between the state government and international education providers could support Haryana's longer-term plans to build global ecosystem for knowledge economy.

Speaking after the meeting, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, "Haryana wants every child in this state to have access to the best possible education. We remain committed to working with institutions that share this vision, for the benefit of our students and the state at global level.

Dr Vishwajeet Rana said, "Queen Elizabeth's School, Gurugram reflects GEDU's wider commitment: bringing world-class education to communities across India, starting with Haryana."

The meeting marks an early step in what both sides described as an ongoing dialogue, with further engagement expected as Queen Elizabeth's School, Gurugram approaches its August 2026 opening and the partnership's scope for the wider state education sector takes shape.

Chandigarh, August 1: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the State Government is fully committed to improving the quality of education in government schools and providing them with better infrastructure. In this direction, new buildings of 150 government schools will be developed across the State, fully conforming to international standards. For the design and construction of these schools, the best models adopted by leading States and reputed institutions across the country, along with guidance from experts, will be taken into consideration.

The Chief Minister was chairing a high-level review meeting of the School Education Department at his official residence, ‘Sant Kabir Kutir’, in Chandigarh on Friday evening. Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda was also present at the meeting.

*Deliberations on comprehensive development of 719 Model Schools*

During the meeting, various schemes and activities of the department aimed at promoting quality and modern education in the State were reviewed in detail. Special focus was laid on the comprehensive development and strengthening of 719 Model Schools in Haryana, including Sansriti Model Schools, Chief Minister’s Early English and Excellence Schools, and PM-SHRI Schools.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that the required infrastructure and facilities are provided in all these schools on priority. He made it clear that new buildings, additional classrooms, separate toilets, strong boundary walls, playgrounds, science and computer laboratories, digital labs, smart classrooms, libraries, new furniture, tablets and other modern teaching resources should be provided in a timely manner. The Chief Minister directed the officers of the Finance Department and the Education Department to ensure that there would be no shortage of funds for these development works and that all construction works should be completed at the earliest.

*Education to be based on modern technology and AI*

The Chief Minister said that government schools would be transformed with high-quality furniture, digital and smart classrooms, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning facilities, vocational education, state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, and digital libraries.

He said the objective of the Government is to provide students in government schools with a high-quality learning environment so that these schools emerge as centres of excellence in quality education. These 150 new schools and 719 Model Schools will serve as sources of inspiration and role models for all other schools in the State. He called upon the officers to implement this ambitious plan in a time-bound manner and make Haryana a leading State in the country in the field of school education.

*Special emphasis on teacher motivation and cleanliness*

During the meeting, Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda also issued important directions to the officers. He said that teachers delivering outstanding performance should be identified, encouraged and felicitated to improve the teaching-learning environment in schools. He also directed that cleanliness, drinking water facilities and overall sanitation standards in all government schools should be further improved.

Senior administrative officers of the School Education Department were also present at the meeting and apprised the Chief Minister of the progress of ongoing development projects and the action plan for upcoming initiatives.

Chandigarh, August 1 — Haryana's Urban Local Bodies Minister Sh. Vipul Goel said that earlier Haryana was known as a state of soldiers and farmers, but now it is also known for sports and athletes. "Our Haryana is a mine of medals," he said. He added that the Haryana government's sports policy has created a favourable ecosystem for sports in the state, shaping a brighter future of its athletes.

Urban Local Bodies Minister Sh. Vipul Goel was speaking on Saturday at the Sports, Fitness and Infrastructure Expo held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Sports Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam was also present on the occasion.

During the visit, the Urban Local Bodies Minister toured the Haryana Pavilion and interacted with the officials, coaches and athletes present there. He took information about the photographs of sports stars displayed at the Haryana Pavilion and their achievements, and also praised the pavilion. He said a large number of athletes, youth and coaches attended the event. Sports and athletes are Haryana's achievement, and it is highly commendable that people learned about Haryana's sports policy and sporting accomplishments through this event.
