Chandigarh, July 30: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the government is working towards introducing the Gita in the curriculum and fulfilling the resolve of taking the Gita to every household. The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is not merely a religious scripture but a complete science of life. The lessons of duty, righteousness, knowledge and devotion explained in the Gita forms the foundation for taking society and the nation forward in the present times. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Haryana Government is carrying forward culture and development together.

On Wednesday evening, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj at the Radha Krishna Temple of Gita Gyan Sansthan, Kurukshetra. Upholding the Guru-Shishya tradition, the Chief Minister sought the blessings of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj by draping him with a shawl. The Chief Minister also offered prayers at the Radha Krishna Temple with Vedic chanting and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, peace and welfare of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Guru Purnima symbolises the glory of the Guru-Shishya tradition and Indian culture. It is from the sacred land of Kurukshetra that the entire world received the art of living through the Gita. Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj has been spreading the message of the Gita among the masses for several decades. His life and work are an inspiration to all of us. He said that Kurukshetra is being developed as an International Gita City. Through centres such as Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar and Gita Gyan Sansthan, the government aims to spread the message of the Gita across the world. The International Gita Mahotsav has today emerged as one of the largest cultural events in the world. This has been made possible with the blessings of saints like Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Guru Purnima teaches us to remain grateful to our Guru, parents and society. The Haryana Government is working on the principle of Antyodaya. Welfare schemes are being implemented for the poor, farmers, women and youth. The Gita inspires us to perform selfless action. With this spirit, we will achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Haryana by 2047.

Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is a Karmayogi. In a short span of time, he has served the state immensely and will continue to do so in the future. The manner in which the government is taking the message of the Gita to the masses is commendable. The Gita instils discipline, dedication and a sense of patriotism in every individual. He said that the Haryana Government has undertaken historic initiatives for the promotion and propagation of the Gita.

Panchkula Zonal Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum to Hear Electricity Consumer Complaints on August 3, 10, 17 and 24

Forum to hear financial disputes involving claims above Rs. 1 lakh and up to Rs. 3 lakh

Chandigarh, July 30- Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) will hold the sittings of the Panchkula Zonal Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum on August 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at UHBVN Headquarters, Vidyut Sadan, Industrial Plots No. 3 & 4, Sector-14, Panchkula.

Sharing more details, a spokesperson of the Nigam said the power utility remains committed to providing consumers with reliable, quality and uninterrupted electricity supply. To achieve the objective of complete consumer satisfaction, several consumer-centric initiatives have been introduced to ensure prompt and effective resolution of grievances.

The spokesperson informed that, in accordance with Regulation 2.8.2, the Zonal Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum is authorised to hear financial disputes involving amounts exceeding Rs. 1 lakh and up to Rs. 3 lakh. Consumers from Kurukshetra, Ambala, Panchkula, Kaithal and Yamunanagar districts may present their grievances before the Forum, where their complaints will be heard and resolved on the scheduled dates.

The Forum will consider complaints relating to incorrect electricity bills, tariff-related issues, meter security deposits, defective meters and voltage-related problems. However, cases pertaining to electricity theft, unauthorised use of electricity, and fatal or non-fatal electrical accidents will not fall within its jurisdiction.

The spokesperson further stated that before filing a financial dispute, the consumer must deposit an amount equal to the claimed amount for each month or the electricity charges payable for the corresponding period, whichever is lower, calculated on the basis of the average electricity bill paid during the preceding six months. Consumers must also certify that the matter is not pending before any court, authority or any other forum, as cases already under judicial or quasi-judicial consideration cannot be entertained.

The UHBVN has appealed to consumers to make use of this grievance redressal mechanism by attending the proceedings on the scheduled dates and seeking resolution of their electricity-related issues.

The Nigam reiterated its commitment to ensuring continuous, reliable and uninterrupted power supply while providing an efficient and transparent mechanism for addressing consumer grievances across the state.

Haryana Has Emerged as the Sports Powerhouse of the Country- Chief Minister

Chief Minister Participates in the Sports, Fitness and Infrastructure Expo Organised in New Delhi

Chandigarh, July 30- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana has emerged as the sports powerhouse of the country. Although Haryana accounts for only 2 per cent of the country's population, the largest number of medal-winning athletes in the Olympics, Paralympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games are from the State, bringing laurels to both Haryana and the nation.

The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the Sports, Fitness and Infrastructure Expo organised at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on Thursday. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya attended the event as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the event was not merely an exhibition but a confluence of dreams and aspirations, where the immense potential of the country's youth could be witnessed. He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has given a new direction and a distinct identity to sports in the country. Initiatives such as Fit India and Khelo India have transformed sports from being merely a competition into a movement for nation-building. Fitness, he said, is no longer just a personal habit but has become a necessity for a Viksit Bharat. He added that he is proud that the event would not only showcase Haryana's medal-winning journey but also present the Haryana Sports Model before the country.

*Haryana Leads the Medal Tally*

The Chief Minister said that Haryana reflects not only a vibrant sporting culture but also a clear vision that has transformed this small State into India's greatest sporting power. While Haryana accounts for only 2 per cent of the country's population, it stands at the forefront whenever medals are counted.

He said that the spirit of excellence among the State's athletes is deeply rooted in its soil. Here, a child does not merely learn to play in someone's lap but learns to compete on the playing field. Struggle becomes a part of life from an early age, carrying young sportspersons from the lanes of villages to the global sporting arena.

*Cash Awards of up to Rs. 6 Crore for Medal Winners*

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is providing cash awards of up to Rs. 6 crore to sportspersons winning gold medals in the Olympic Games, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. He said that during the last 12 years, Rs. 730 crore has been transferred directly into the bank accounts of 17,182 sportspersons.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the State Government has made a provision to provide a monthly scholarship of Rs. 1,500 to players in the 8 to 14 years age group, while players in the 15 to 19 years age group are being provided a monthly scholarship of Rs. 2,000. He further said that the Haryana Government has provided direct government employment to 260 outstanding sportspersons in Group A, Group B and Group C categories.

Highlighting the Government's commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that nearly Rs. 1,100 crore has been spent on sports infrastructure over the past 12 years. He said that nearly 2,000 sports nurseries and 25 sports academies are operational across the State, where a daily diet allowance of Rs. 500 per player is being provided.

The Chief Minister further said that North India's first state-of-the-art Scientific Training and Rehabilitation Centre has been established at Panchkula at a cost of Rs. 10 crore.

*Zero Tolerance Against Drugs*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that he himself participates in a marathon with the youth every month. Referring to the marathon organised recently in Yamunanagar, he said that nearly one lakh youth participated alongside him.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, the Government is working with complete seriousness to protect the youth from the menace of drugs. He asserted that no element attempting to spread drug abuse among the youth would be spared.

*Prime Minister Set the Target at Jind Rally*

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat can be realised only when the country's youth are healthy, physically fit and full of self-confidence.

He said that at the Jind rally, the Prime Minister has set a target for Haryana to prepare the next generation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. This, he said, reflects Haryana's capability as well as the Prime Minister's unwavering confidence in the State.

*Chief Minister Motivates Sportspersons*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini urged sportspersons not to be discouraged by defeat or carried away by victory. He encouraged them to become better with each passing day, saying that while medals are a recognition of hard work, the ultimate goal of every true sportsperson should be to bring glory to the nation.

Haryana Intensifies Crackdown on Spurious Drugs; FDA Gurugram Leads with 12 of State's 16 Arrests

Rs. 70 Lakh Counterfeit Mounjaro Seized, Interstate Drug Syndicates Busted, 23,000 Spurious Capsules Recovered in Major Enforcement Drive

Chandigarh, July 30 - Haryana has emerged as one of the country's most proactive states in combating spurious medicines, with the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Haryana recording 16 arrests in cases related to counterfeit/spurious drugs following intensified enforcement under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Of these, 12 arrests have been made by FDA Gurugram, which has also busted multiple interstate counterfeit medicine syndicates, seized fake medicines worth approximately Rs. 70 lakh, recovered 323 varieties of allopathic medicines from illegal premises.

The intensified enforcement drive has been carried out on the direction of Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, calling for strict implementation of the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 against manufacturers, distributors and sellers of spurious drugs. Subsequently, Mr. Ripan Mehta, State Drugs Controller, Haryana, issued detailed instructions to all field officers to ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the Act through intelligence-based surveillance, prompt inspections, rigorous sampling, coordinated enforcement actions, and expeditious legal proceedings against offenders.

Since September 2025, the FDA Gurugram enforcement team led by Drugs Control Officer Amandeep Chauhan has unearthed several organized counterfeit medicine networks operating across states through intelligence-based investigations, making Gurugram one of the state's leading enforcement units against spurious medicines.

One of the department's biggest successes came in April 2026, when FDA Gurugram busted a counterfeit Mounjaro Injection racket. Acting on specific intelligence, enforcement teams raided premises in DLF Phase-IV and Sector-69, Gurugram, seizing counterfeit Mounjaro injections worth nearly Rs. 70 lakh. The operation led to the arrest of Avi Sharma and Mujaamil Khan, both of whom are in judicial custody after denial of bail. The Mounjaro injection is used for diabetes and weight loss.

In another significant operation in July 2026, the department dismantled an interstate network dealing in counterfeit Telma-AM tablets. The investigation traced the supply chain to an unlicensed wholesale establishment in Delhi. Accused Suvrat was arrested during the investigation, while disclosures made by him led to the arrest of Zubeir from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Further investigations revealed one more counterfeit/spurious product Tofajak 5 mg brand of renowned pharmaceutical company of India. During a joint operation by FDA Haryana and FDA Delhi, officials recovered 323 varieties of allopathic medicines including a substantial quantity of suspected spurious anabolic steroid preparations from a residential premises unlicensed premises in Delhi, these steroids were sold to youths at GYMS. The operation continued until 2:10 a.m., reflecting the department's sustained efforts to dismantle illegal pharmaceutical supply chains. The investigations in this matter are in pipeline which may lead to burst the nexus of more people indulged in illegal activities of drugs.

The department has also made substantial progress in the Head On (Somatropin) Injection case. Accused Hari Om has been arrested, while the Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of absconding accused Jatin Khanna on July 20, 2026. Further investigation is underway to trace and arrest the absconding accused.

The department's strengthened surveillance system has also produced significant results. Since April 2026, the Government Analyst has declared four additional drug samples as spurious, leading to criminal proceedings under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

Acting on one such Government Analyst's report, FDA Haryana seized nearly 23,000 capsules of Rabeprazole Sodium (EC) & Domperidone (SR) Capsules (R Zara-DSR Capsules). Further legal proceedings have been initiated against all persons found responsible. The Rabeprazole and Domperidone capsules are used for the treatment of acid reflux and peptic ulcers.

Dr. Sumita Misra said the Haryana Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against counterfeit medicines and continues to strengthen surveillance, intelligence gathering and enforcement to safeguard public health. She said every person involved in the manufacture, storage, distribution or sale of spurious medicines would be identified and prosecuted strictly under the law.

The Food and Drugs Administration has advised hospitals, wholesalers, retailers and members of the public to procure medicines only from licensed and authorized sources and immediately report any suspected counterfeit medicines, tampered packaging or illegal pharmaceutical activities. The department reiterated that ensuring the availability of safe, quality and genuine medicines to patients remains its highest priority.

Haryana Steps Up Preparations for Supreme Court's 'Samadhan Samaroh 2026'

Chandigarh, July 30: Haryana is intensifying preparations for the Supreme Court of India's "Samadhan Samaroh 2026." Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has directed all Administrative Secretaries to promptly identify cases suitable for amicable settlement before the nationwide Special Lok Adalat, scheduled for August 21 to 23.

In a communication to Administrative Secretaries, the Chief Secretary emphasised the need for proactive participation from all departments to ensure the initiative's success. The program aims to promote mediation, reduce avoidable litigation, and expedite the resolution of pending disputes. Departments must complete the identification process within a week. A review meeting is scheduled for August 3, which all Administrative Secretaries are required to attend in person.

This initiative is part of a nationwide effort by the Supreme Court to promote consensual dispute resolution through Special Lok Adalats. Departments have been asked to identify cases suitable for mediation and to coordinate with the Haryana State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authorities for resolution.

Sh. Rastogi emphasised that timely coordination and active participation by all departments will help reduce litigation, improve administrative efficiency, and provide faster relief to citizens awaiting resolution of long-pending disputes.

Chandigarh, July 30- Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Minister, Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Thursday said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the State Government is committed to providing clean drinking water to every household through tap connections. To ensure clean and adequate drinking water supply to 39 water-scarce villages of Mahendragarh district and the Nangal Chaudhary town group, the Government has accorded technical approval to a comprehensive Rs. 284.18-crore Drinking Water Augmentation Project.

The Public Health Engineering Minister said that the project has been divided into three packages for implementation. The work under the first package, costing Rs. 53.47 crore, has already been awarded and execution has commenced on the ground.

The Cabinet Minister said that under this far-reaching project, three new independent water works will be constructed at Sirohi Bahali, Musnota and Asavas. In addition, new rising main lines for raw water will be laid for the existing water works at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Choudhary (Mohanpur).

He further informed that the tendering process for the second and third packages is in the final stage. The second package, costing Rs. 30.69 crore, includes the Asrawas Water Works and the rising main line, while the third package, costing Rs, 41.12 crore, includes the Musnota Water Works and the construction of a second lifting station at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Choudhary.

The Public Health Engineering Minister directed the officials to ensure the use of quality materials and complete the entire construction work within the stipulated 540-day period. He said that the State Government is working with complete dedication to fulfil its resolve of providing safe drinking water to every household.

He further said that the department has prepared a project for the construction of a new disposal system for Narnaul city in Mahendragarh district and the laying of new sewer lines in the remaining streets, at an estimated cost of Rs. 34,62,14,896 (approximately Rs. 34.62 crore). The estimated cost of the project has been fixed at Rs. 34,62,14,896, and a 365-day timeline has been prescribed for its completion. He said that the project will primarily focus on civil engineering works, which will provide permanent relief to the residents of the city from sewerage-related problems.
