Chandigarh, July 26- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday planted a sapling at the Police Lines in Yamunanagar under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, an initiative inspired by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister planted the sapling after participating in the ‘Nashe Se Jung – Yamunanagar Ke Sang’ programme. On the occasion, he urged the people of the state to plant more trees and take responsibility for their protection.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini paid floral tributes to the brave martyrs at the Police Martyrs' Memorial. Paying homage to the fallen heroes, the Chief Minister said that the supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers of Kargil will always inspire the nation with the ideals of patriotism, courage and an unwavering sense of duty.

The Chief Minister said that trees are not only essential for maintaining a clean and healthy environment but are also a priceless legacy for ensuring a safe and sustainable future for coming generations. He emphasised that every citizen should plant at least one tree during their lifetime and nurture it with care.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that protecting nature is a collective responsibility and that active public participation is the key to making Haryana greener and more environmentally sustainable. He informed that around 1,500 saplings will be planted under a special plantation drive in the Police Lines campus at Yamunanagar.

The Chief Minister said such initiatives play a significant role not only in environmental conservation but also in creating greater public awareness about the importance of protecting nature. Students of DAV School, Police Lines, made a valuable contribution towards the successful implementation of the plantation campaign.

Chandigarh, July 26- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said that the greatest strength of any nation is its youth. If the younger generation remains healthy, disciplined and free from drugs, the dream of building a Viksit Bharat will undoubtedly be realised.

Addressing a large gathering after flagging off the 'Nasha Se Jung – Yamunanagar Ke Sang' anti-drug run in Yamunanagar, the Chief Minister administered a pledge to participants to stay away from drugs and urged them to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

Expressing satisfaction over the enthusiastic participation of youth, children, women, senior citizens and people from all walks of life, the Chief Minister said the overwhelming public response reflected society's collective resolve to eradicate the menace of drug abuse.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the event was not merely a race but a celebration of the determination of Haryana's youth and a reflection of the Government's commitment and the State's values. He said every young person today stands at the crossroads of two paths, one leading towards life, sports, health and progress, and the other towards addiction, darkness and destruction. One path builds the future, while the other destroys it. I am confident that the youth of Haryana, particularly the youth of Yamunanagar, will choose the path of development, fitness and a bright future, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the youth of Yamunanagar had resolved to run not towards addiction but towards creating a drug-free society and fulfilling their dreams. He described the event as much more than a five or ten-kilometre race, saying it was a mass awareness movement against the social evil of drug abuse whose message would resonate across Haryana.

Highlighting the importance of fitness, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi had launched the Fit India Movement to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Owing to the Prime Minister's sustained efforts, yoga has gained global recognition, and International Yoga Day is now celebrated worldwide every year on June 21, he added.

The Chief Minister said today's 'Nasha Se Jung – Yamunanagar Ke Sang' run is also a major outreach programme being organised under Haryana Uday. He appealed to parents to actively participate in such initiatives with their children and spend quality time interacting with them. In today's fast-paced life, parents must communicate regularly with their children because loneliness often pushes individuals towards social evils like drug addiction. Our children should move towards development, health and fitness, not towards drugs, he said.

The Chief Minister said the youth of the country are serving the nation as brave soldiers safeguarding its borders, while Haryana's sportspersons continue to make the State and the country proud by winning the highest number of medals in the Olympics, Paralympics and national as well as international sporting events.

Appealing to elected representatives, administrative officers, religious and social organisations, NGOs and the youth, he called upon every section of society to work together to eliminate the menace of drugs by adopting a healthy lifestyle and promoting greater public awareness.

*Chief Minister honours winners of 10-km race*

On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated the winners of the 10-km race. In the men's category, Mohit from Mahendragarh secured the first prize of Rs. 1 lakh, Satyam won the second prize of Rs. 75,000, while Sachin Yadav from Uttar Pradesh received the third prize of Rs. 51,000.

In the women's category, Bharti from Sonipat won the first prize of Rs.1 lakh, Sonika from Bhiwani secured the second prize of Rs. 75,000, while Shashi Lata from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, received the third prize of Rs. 51,000. A special award was also presented to 73-year-old Triloki Nath of Panipat for completing the 10-km race.

Deputy Commissioner Preeti informed that around 1.25 lakh people from Yamunanagar and neighbouring states had registered for the event. Approximately 70,000 participants took part in the run, making it a record turnout.

Punjab Government Betraying Youth- Chief Minister

CM slams Punjab Government over Excise Inspector examination results and Pharmacy paper leak

Inaugurates Blood Donation Camp and Ambulance Service in Phagwara, Punjab

Chandigarh, July 26- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of betraying the youth by failing to ensure transparency in recruitment examinations. Referring to the recent Excise Inspector recruitment examination, he alleged that the results reflected serious irregularities, with several selected candidates carrying unusual names such as "SBI", "GIPS" and "Photo". He further claimed that some candidates, who had reportedly filled two examination centres in their applications, had been selected twice, indicating glaring discrepancies in the recruitment process.

The Chief Minister also criticised the Punjab Government over the alleged leak of the Pharmacy examination paper conducted just four days ago, stating that repeated incidents of paper leaks amounted to a betrayal of talented and hardworking youth aspiring for government jobs.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini was addressing a programme organised in Phagwara, Punjab, where he inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp and flagged off an ambulance service.

*Service to Humanity is the Greatest Mission*

The Chief Minister lauded the humanitarian initiatives of Sampla Foundation and Navya Helping Hands, saying that both organisations had made selfless service their mission. He remarked that the greater the number of such organisations in society, the stronger the nation would become.

Expressing deep sorrow over the untimely demise of young Navya, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini praised her family for transforming their personal loss into a noble mission of serving humanity in her memory.

*Blood Donation is the Greatest Gift of Life*

Encouraging the youth to donate blood voluntarily, the Chief Minister said that blood cannot be manufactured in any factory or machine. Despite remarkable scientific advancements, blood can only be produced by the human body and reaches those in need only when people come forward to donate voluntarily.

He said Punjab is the land of brave warriors, sacrifice and selfless service. The sacrifices of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the valour of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh continue to inspire generations by teaching that the greatness of life lies in its purpose.

*Pays Tribute to Kargil Heroes*

Paying homage on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas observed on July 26, the Chief Minister bowed before the brave soldiers who laid down their lives while defending the nation's frontiers under the most difficult circumstances.

He said the nation's soldiers protected India's borders by shedding their blood, while blood donors today pledge to save human lives by donating theirs. On one hand stands the unmatched courage of defending the nation, and on the other, the compassion of saving lives. Both are rooted in sacrifice, duty and the noble spirit of placing others before oneself, he added.

*Haryana Taking Strong Measures Against Drug Abuse*

The Chief Minister highlighted the Haryana Government's campaign against drug abuse, stating that awareness is being created among the youth through marathons and various outreach activities. He said drug addiction not only destroys the future of young people but also adversely affects their families and pushes them into poverty.

Highlighting the welfare initiatives of the Haryana Government, Sh. Saini said women belonging to families with an annual income of up to Rs. 1.80 lakh are being provided LPG cylinders at Rs. 500. Under the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, eligible women are receiving Rs. 2,100 per month. He further stated that farmers in Haryana are being provided the benefit of Minimum Support Price (MSP) on 24 crops.

*Merit-Based Recruitment in Haryana*

The Chief Minister asserted that government jobs in Haryana are being provided purely based on merit without any parchi-kharchi. Referring to the recently declared JBT teachers' recruitment results, he said 1,500 candidates had secured government jobs solely on merit.

He added that people from all sections of society in Haryana are satisfied with the welfare-oriented policies and transparent governance of the Central and State Governments.

Chandigarh, July 26- Haryana Minister of State for Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship, Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Raja Daksh Prajapati Jayanti, stating that the ideals of saints and great personalities in Indian culture inspire society to remain united. He said the life of Raja Daksh Prajapati symbolises dedication to duty, social harmony and public welfare, and urged people to strengthen education, values and social organisation by following his teachings.

The Minister was addressing the Raja Daksh Prajapati Jayanti celebrations organised by the Prajapati Dharamshala Seva Samiti at Prajapati Dharamshala, Old GT Road, Palwal, in the gracious presence of Sant Rishi Raj Maharaj of Panchwati Dham, Palwal. He inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Sh. UHBVN to Hold Consumer Grievance Hearing for Panchkula Consumers on July 28

Chandigarh, July 26- The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) is committed to ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to consumers and is continuously implementing various consumer-centric initiatives for the speedy redressal of electricity-related grievances.

Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that As part of these efforts, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (Circle Forum), Panchkula, headed by its Chairman and Members, will hold a grievance hearing on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. onwards at the office of the Superintending Engineer, UHBVN, SCO No. 96, First Floor, Sector 5, Panchkula.

The spokesperson said that the hearing will exclusively cover grievances of electricity consumers of Panchkula district. The Forum will hear complaints relating to billing, voltage fluctuations, metering, disconnection and restoration of electricity connections, interruptions in power supply, deficiencies in service efficiency, safety and reliability, and non-compliance with the orders of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC).

The spokesperson further shared that, however, the Forum will not entertain cases involving penalties for electricity theft or unauthorised use of electricity under Section 126 and Sections 135 to 139 of the Electricity Act, nor matters relating to inquiries and electrical accidents under Section 161 of the Act. Consumers of Panchkula district are requested to make use of this opportunity to get their electricity-related grievances resolved promptly, said the spokesperson.

Chandigarh, July 26- Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, inaugurated a Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Mela in the Badshahpur Assembly constituency of Gurugram on Sunday. On the occasion, he visited stalls set up by various government departments, reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and interacted with beneficiaries to understand their needs.

Addressing the gathering, Rao Narbir Singh said that the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Melas are not merely government programmes but a powerful initiative to make economically weaker families self-reliant. Through these Melas, eligible families are provided access to a wide range of government welfare schemes at a single venue, ensuring lasting and meaningful improvements in their lives, he said.

Rao Narbir Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government is translating the principle of Antyodaya into reality by ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. The government's priority, he said, is not only to extend assistance to economically weaker families but also to create opportunities that enable them to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity.

*Kargil Heroes' Supreme Sacrifice Will Continue to Inspire the Nation: Rao Narbir Singh*

Rao Narbir Singh also addressed a programme organised by the Freedom Fighters' Successors Committee, Haryana (Gurugram) on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas at the Freedom Fighters' Memorial and District War Memorial Complex in Civil Lines, Gurugram on Sunday.

Rao Narbir Singh said that the indomitable courage, unparalleled valour and supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers who fought in the Kargil War will continue to inspire generations of Indians. He said the nation will forever remain indebted to the martyrs who laid down their lives while safeguarding the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Cabinet Minister said that Kargil Vijay Diwas is an occasion for every citizen to pay homage to the immortal heroes whose unwavering commitment and supreme sacrifice ensured the nation's security and honour.

The Minister paid floral tributes at the District War Memorial and the Freedom Fighters' Memorial in honour of the martyrs and freedom fighters. He also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for their supreme sacrifice.

On the occasion, President of the Freedom Fighters' Successors Committee Kapoor Singh Dalal requested the Minister to ensure the early completion of the remaining development works at the Freedom Fighters' Memorial.

Responding to the request, Rao Narbir Singh assured that the State Government would make every possible effort to expedite and complete the pending development works at the memorial at the earliest.
